White and his quartet group ” The Mighty Wind” they started the group the same year that i was born 53 years ago 1957, i can still remember when singers like “The Original Five Blind Boys”, “The Young Caravans” who included the young “Shirley Caesar”, “Albertina Walker” ,”Dorothy Norwood”, ”The Mighty Cloulds Of Joy “and The Staple Singers all came to our home, they were on stage with them too. i can remember when they gained the attention of Motown Records President and Founder Berry Gordy who came to our home to hear their rehearsals , Mr Gordy offered them a recording deal …They declined the offer to be a secular singing group…Saying” What Profit A Man To Gain The World And Lose His Soul” Brenda Battle Jordan.
