Every time there’s a legitimate protest, they’re co-opted by violent rioters, as if they’re there to discredit the legitimacy of the protest. After all, when it’s over all anyone remembers is the violence and looting, etc. I wonder if it’s the same people at each one. Already early in the middle of the day i already heard a real angry protester who made it clear that anyone that wasn’t black should’t even be there protesting. Same story I heard already 40 years ago in Memphis.. With a fuse that short then agitators didn’t have to do much to cause rioting and looting, and discredit the protest. They’re just infiltrating these protests so as they can get an excuse for a martial law lockdown
There is no excuse for riots.
The chief of police held a press conference on national news medias (Fri. I think) and told that these cops were responsible, suspended from their jobs and that they were seeking to prosecute.
The reason the protesters are angry (and likely rioting) is the difference in treatment.
If a citizen is accused of murder, they are arrested, charged and jailed. These officers have not been arrested, charged or jailed even though the press conference statements were an open admission of guilt.
During the early 1990′s I lived in Baltimore MD, it was quite an experience, the city is so divided as is much of America along racial lines. I remember reading in the Baltimore Sun one day in a very small column that 2/3 of all black males between the ages of 18 and 35 were involved in criminality. This figure is shocking and like many white people I blamed black people for their own problems, I no longer hold that view, I believe the black / white conundrum is like a lot of other issues, it was planned that way so as to keep people separate and keep them fighting among themselves, whats the solution? white people and black should come together in the form of community meetings with no other rule except both have an intention of solving this ongoing race issue in a peaceful way. The government will never solve this except we the solution of hiring more police. After all we have a lot more in common than separates us. The people need to bring in a system of participatory democracy where they have real power to change things. The current system of representative democracy is working just as the controllers want it to work, with the people having no real say in how their state / country is run. Under participatory democracy over a period of time the people will start to craft their city, their state and their country in their favour not the vested interests
