Threats Claim 160 Nuclear Bombs Hidden All Over U.S.

Dateline Zero — Threats are arriving in the mailboxes of ordinary citizens; handwritten letters stating “The Al-Qaeda organization has planted 160 nuclear bombs throughout the U.S. in schools, stadiums, churches, stores, financial institutions and government buildings.” It also adds: “This is a suicide mission for us.”

The writer are all written on behalf of Osama Bin Laden. The claim is that tells the nukes are remotely controlled, so that they all go off at the same time.

The FBI has been notified about 25 letters so far. At least one of the letters has a Chicago postmark, according to CBS Chicago.

Paul L. Williams, a former consultant to the FBI on organized crime and terrorism, has been alerting people to such a plan as far back as 2005. The plan is called the “American Hiroshima.” He had explained then that Osama bin Laden had allegedly obtained nuclear weapons and smuggled them into the U.S. through Mexico for use in this plot. It was further believed that MS-13 gangsters were helping get these weapons across the boarder.

Earlier this year, a reporter discovered (by accident) that boarder officials had found a ‘weapon of mass effect’ being smuggled across the border. This was revealed by an officer of the Port Authority of San Diego.

Investigative reporter Mitch Blacher: “So, specifically, you’re looking for the dirty bomb? You’re looking for the nuclear device?”

Al Hallor, who is the assistant port director and an officer with Customs and Border Protection: “Correct. Weapons of mass effect.”

Blacher: “You ever found one?”

Hallor: “Not at this location.”

Blacher: “But they have found them?”

Hallor: “Yes.”

Blacher: “You never found one in San Diego though?”

Hallor: “I would say at the port of San Diego we have not.”

Blacher: “Have you found one in San Diego?”

The interview was interrupted before Hallor was able to answer the question.

It’s good that it was stopped. But here’s the chilling problem: For every one drug shipment stopped at the border, several others have made it through. Would the same thing apply with these ‘weapons of mass effect.’

In February of this year, an FBI agent was quoted as making an unsettling statement. Dr. Vahid Majidi, the FBI’s assistant director in charge of the FBI’s Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate, stated that the chances of the United States being hit with WMDs is 100%. It’s not a matter of if, but when.

Agencies in Oregon, California, Texas and Florida also got the letter with the Chicago postmark, so the Bureau’s Chicago office is leading the investigation.

The FBI is telling CBS Chicago that the letter is a hoax. FBI Special Agent Andre Zavala told CBS: “There are items in the letter that lead us to believe it is a hoax. There are several demands documented that aren’t fully coherent.” The CBS article doesn’t say what those demands are; only that the writer alluded to how families in Afghanistan have to live.
