Pentagon Confirms US Military Forces Deployed Along Syria Border

US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta has confirmed that US troops have been dispatched to the Jordan-Syrian border using WMD concerns as an excuse.

As Turkey continues to use the false flag rebel terrorist bombing of a Turkey border town as an excuse to continue so-called retaliation strikes against Syria for a seventh day the Pentagon now admits they have deployed US troops along the Jordan-Syria border to the south of Turkey.

Defense Secretary Panetta has confirmed that the US Special forces have been in place along the border for some time time now using the excuse they are they to contain any violence that might spill across the border as well as to providing humanitarian assistance and to stop the proliferation of Weapons of mass destruction.

Of course these are outright lies as special forces would to little from stopping an Assad’s army from crossing over the border.

The excuse that a secretive group of special operation forces are providing “humanitarian assistance” to refugees is another bold faced lie that only propagandized corporate media stooges would report as truth.

It has long been admitted by US officials  that the United States and its allies are providing the Islamic Salafi Jihadists with intelligence to conduct and coordinate terrorist bombings on Syria government forces  although that intelligence was previously believed to have been gather from remote warships in the Mediterranean and through satellite images.

Odds are the troops deployed along the Syria border are helping the terrorist smuggle people and weapons into Syria, training new Jihadist recruits and possibly even working along side the Jihadists on the ground to conduct terrorist attacks.

While this is going, Turkey continues its bombing of Syria while continuing to pressure NATO and the UN to launch a military intervention against Syria using last weeks false flag mortar shelling as a pretext for war.

Turkey PM Threatens To Declare War As Bombing Of Syria Enters 5th Day

Turkey’s Prime Minister threatens to declare war as the bombing of Syria continues for a fifth day and the UN and NATO mull plans for intervention.

For over a year Turkey has been provided clandestine and overt support for a terrorist insurrection in Syria including logistical support, training and even a military base to plan and conduct military operations from without fear of retribution from the Syria army.

Even in the face of lack of evidence substantiating the source Turkey started a bombing campaign along the Syria border 5 days ago after a mortar shell reportedly fell in a Turkey-Syria border town and killed Turkish troops.

To this day it remains unclear if the artillery came from the terrorist rebels or the pro-government forces in Syria as Turkey continues a scorched earth bombing policy to clear a 10 kilometer buffer zone along the border.

There is quite a bit of speculation the terrorist rebels actually fired the artillery due to the fact the terrorist rebels control the area in question and firing such attacks targets gives Turkey an excuse to demand NATO and the United Nations launch a military invasion.

Meanwhile, there is absolutely no benefit for Syria to have fired such an attack and fully knowing the consequences for doing so they have painstakingly avoided such measures even in the face of numerous attacks by Islamic militant forces on border checkpoints.

Regardless Turkey’s parliament has since authorized the military to conduct attacks against Syria as Turkey’s Prime Minister is still threatening to declare war.

NATO held an emergency session on the crisis and the United Nations is has separately put forth a draft resolution which was vetoed by Russia.

Russia, China, and Iran continue to back Syria’s position in the conflict as Russia warned NATO against trying to find a pretext to launch military actions against Syria.

At the events continue to unfold the corporate media continues their one side biased reporting of the events.

The latest propaganda has been the reporting on a string of terrorist bombings against civilian targets in Aleppo, Damascus and several other Syria cities.

Last week over 48 people were killed in string of bombings in Aleppo conducted by the Al Qaeda arm in Syria.

The corporate media deceptively spun the bombings as targeting legitimate military targets and failed to mention they were the work of Al Qaeda.

RT reports on the fifth day of bombing below in a report below which unsettling echoes the west’s propaganda line that Turkey’s bombardment is in retaliation to Syria government artillery fire even though it can not be said who fired the original artillery rounds.

Confirmed: Pentagon deploys military forces to Jordan-Syria border

RT – US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta has confirmed that US troops have been dispatched to the Jordan-Syrian border to help bolster the former’s military capabilities in case violence escalates in the volatile region.

“We have been working with Jordan for a period of time now…on a number of issues that have developed as a result of what’s happening in Syria,” Panetta said. He said chief among those issues were the “humanitarian needs” that has developed as a result of the refugee influx into Jordan.

“We have also been working with them in the effort to monitor the CBW (Chemical-Biological Weapons) sites to determine how best to respond to any concerns in that area,” Panetta continued.

“And we’ve also been working with them to help them develop their own military and operational capabilities in the event of any contingency there, and that’s the reason we have a group of our forces there. They’re working to help them build a headquarters there and to ensure that we make the relationship between the United States and Jordan a strong one so that we can deal with all of the possible consequences of what is happening in Syria,” he added.

Panetta’s comments came during a NATO conference of defense ministers in Brussels on Wednesday, where he said the US had been working with Jordan to monitor chemical and biological weapons sites in Syria and help the country deal with Syrian refugees crossing over the border.

Earlier in the day Jordan’s military had denied the US military was helping the kingdom deal with the influx of Syrian refugees and other security related issues.

“News reports that the United States is helping Jordan deal with the Syrian refugees or face dangers related to chemical weapons are not true,” state-run Petra news agency cited a Jordan Armed Forces spokesperson as saying.

The US has previously used Jordan as a base for other Syria-related military activities. In May of this year, Washington held military drills in Jordan dubbed ‘Operation Eager Lion,’ which saw around 12,000 troops from several nations participate in undisclosed training exercises.

A US defense official in Washington said the forces were composed of 100 military planners and other personnel who had stayed on in Jordan after attending the annual exercise in May. Several dozen more had subsequently been flown in, and they are operating from a joint US-Jordanian military center north of the capital, the official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told AP.

The Obama administration denied accusations in the Syrian media that the May exercises were a threat against President Assad, and maintained that the action focused on the treatment of refugees, anti-terrorism tactics and naval interception of smuggling vessels.

“We have been working closely with our Jordanian partners on a variety of issues related to Syria for some time now,” Pentagon Press Secretary George Little said. Citing Washington’s concern over Syria’s stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, he said that the US has been planning “various contingencies, both unilaterally and with our regional partners.”

The US has long maintained concerns about the Assad government’s  arsenal of chemical and biological weapons. In August, US President Obama said the movement or utilization of chemical weapons would constitute a “red line” which would change Washington’s “calculus” towards Damascus. In July Syria warned it would use chemical and biological weapons to repel “external aggression.”

Last week Panetta said intelligence suggested that Assad’s government had moved chemical weapons to protect them, though they are believed to be secure.

Jordan has also struggled to deal with the 200,000 plus Syrian refugees Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh says have crossed the border since the Syrian uprising began 18 months ago.

Jordanian riot police deployed tear gas to disperse Syrian refugees at a camp in the north of Jordan earlier this month after they set their tents on fire and destroyed property to protest their living conditions.

US and Jordanian officials had previously discussed the possibility of setting up a humanitarian buffer zone on the Syrian side of the border, the New York Times reported Wednesday, but have made no moves to implement the plan.

The Syrian conflict took an unexpected turn last week when mortar fire struck across the border at neighboring Turkey, sparking outcry from the Turkish government who subsequently returned fire. Turkey deployed 25 new F-16 fighter jets to reinforce its borders this week as NATO pledged support if the conflict spills into the country again.

Since uprisings against the embattled President Assad began last year, the UN estimated that more than 20,000 people were killed in the conflict and some 700,000 fled Syria to seek refuge in neighboring countries.
