JD Hayworth hits it out of the park on “Mighty 1090″

JD Hayworth has been signed to join Broadcast Company of the Americas Sports/Talker “The Mighty 1090″ (XEPRS-AM/Rosarito, Baja, CA). The recovering politician turned talk radio host will be teamed up with So Cal Sports radio legend Lee “Hacksaw” Hamilton in mornings on BCA’s south-of-the-border-based San Diego Sports/Talker. While Hayworth is perhaps best known for his years as a U.S. Congressman from Arizona and as a conservative Talk radio host at KFYI/Phoenix, KSFO/San Francisco and other stations, his move to “The Mighty 1090″ actually marks a return to Sports broadcasting for JD who began his broadcast career as a TV Sports anchor in Greenville, SC, Cincinnati and Phoenix prior to his run for political office.

“It’s a back-to-the-future moment for me, returning to Sports and teaming with my old pal Hacksaw,” Hayworth told NTS MediaOnline Today. “Not only do I get to join the starting lineup on one of America’s great Sports/Talk stations, BCA management is also allowing me to ‘pinch hit’ on Political Talk stations from time-to-time as available, so how great is that!?”
