State Defense Forces: Governors Form Militia Protection Against Martial Law

An unconfirmed report states that President Obama has “served 14-State Governors in the United States, National Security Letters (NSLs) warning that the Governor’s actions in attempting to form ‘State Defense Forces’ (SDF) needs to be halted ‘immediately’ or they will face arrest for the crime of treason.”

The report states that Governors Tim Pawlenty (of Minnesota) and Rick Perry (of Texas) have acknowledged that “the President is destroying their Nation.”

Recently the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) arrested Buford Rogers under assertion that he was planning to use improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and several firearms to attack a city in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Rogers is a member of the Viper Black Snake Militia (VBSM); a patriot “militia – type” group that is being touted by the mainstream media as an anti-government organization with terroristic tendencies.

In 2012, Kevin Eugene Boney, a member of a militia in Southeast Texas, was arrested by Liberty County Sheriff officers in conjunction with a domestic dispute that turned into a stand – off when Boney was reported as stating that he was a “warrant officer in the Texas Militia” and that the sheriff had no authority over him.

Boney was accused of shooting at his wife outside their home.

SDF are civilian militarized units that operate under the authority of the Governor and are not part of the Army National Guard (ANG). While the SDF cannot be federalized to come under the control of the US government, they receive their authority by the right of each state governor.

States that have active SDFs include:

• Georgia
• Alabama
• Louisiana
• South Carolina
• Tennessee
• Texas
• Virginia
• Minnesota
• Oregon

Under US Code Title 32, Section 109, each state may employ their own defense forces who may not be ordered, call to or drafted into the ANG; nor armed by federal forces. The code reads: “A person may not become a member of a defense force . . . if he is a member of a reserve component of the armed forces.”

SDFs usually work in tandem with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and on missions for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The Military Emergency Management Specialist (MEMS) academies provide a training qualification members of a SDF must obtain with online courses and practical education in exercise management and local disaster planning.

The DHS Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) work with SDFs; as well as FEMA Citizen Corps.

SDFs may receive the minimum required weapons training; however this may not be the case due to conflicting state regulations. In any event, the governor is empowered to call the SDF to arms through state legislation.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has defined Constitutional Americans are domestic terrorists . More than 300,000 US citizens have been termed a “non-violent terrorist” that is dangerous because they are “sovereigns, zealots who refuse to recognize government authority in virtually any form.”

Sovereign citizens are classified as:

• Believing US Federal Notes have no value
• Believing precious metals are “valid currency”
• Do not believe that they must pay taxes
• Will become violent when confronted by local police
• Do not obey state or federal laws
• Do not recognize federal or local governmental authority

The Federal Bureau of Investigations have called the sovereign movement members “paper terrorists” who fight foreclosure with demonstrations, “filing phony deed claims”, and “squat” in foreclosed homes.

Local police in North Carolina are being trained on how to deal with sovereign citizens because they are recognized as a “domestic terrorist movement.”

DHS has released a paper , published by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START), which outlines that this think-tank was “tasked by the Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology Directorate with using state-of-the-art theories, methods, and data from the social and behavioral sciences to improve understanding of the origins, dynamics, and social and psychological impacts of terrorism.”

According to the paper, “the importance of understanding terrorism in the United States assumed heightened prominence in the wake of 9-11 . . . surprisingly little is known about general patterns of terrorist attacks in the United States, including where attacks are most likely to occur.”

Clearly, START explains that an American that adheres to the “extreme right-wing” ideology is a “potential terrorist”.

The document states: “Extreme Right-Wing: groups that believe that one’s personal and/or national ‘way of life’ is under attack and is either already lost or that the threat is imminent (for some the threat is from a specific ethnic, racial, or religious group), and believe in the need to be prepared for an attack either by participating in paramilitary preparations and training or survivalism. Groups may also be fiercely nationalistic (as opposed to universal and international in orientation), anti-global, suspicious of centralized federal authority, reverent of individual liberty, and believe in conspiracy theories that involve grave threat to national sovereignty and/or personal liberty.”
