Top IRS Official Takes Fifth Amendment – Won’t Answer Questions About What She Knew About the Improper Screening – or Why She Didn’t Reveal it to Congress

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups.
Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd.
Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

The only time DemocRATS show any respect for The United States Constitution is when they can use it (pleading the 5th) to keep their stupid asses out of prison.
Is any American going to continue to pay taxes? Go on a cash basis with your employers……even at a lower salary you will come out ahead……as will you employer. It’s time for this extortion group to be unfunded.
Government officials should not be permitted to plead the fifth, nor have “memory lapses” like I don’t know or I can’t recall. The fifth works for civilians but NOT for government officials trying to cover up their dirty deeds and corruption. If they play that game they should be treated exactly how citizens would be treated in such a case: put in jail until they change their mind (though for the government people total solitary confinement would be preferred). Do that and we’ll end these farces of Congressional hearings and really get to the truth.
She can’t plead the 5th if she doesn’t recognize, accept and support the constitution, or if she performed actions against it.
Look at these creeps. They want to know every penny you have, spend, save, give away, store but when it comes to them, they plead the 5th.
