Why is Facebook not responding to profiles sexually exploiting children?

  This is what I see needs to happen immediately if Facebook is in any
way keen on retaining any credibility whatsoever:

1) The system tested last week needs to be reinstated immediately and
be in place 24/7.

2) A child abuse reporting function for the general public along the
lines we suggested must be actioned by the end of the month. All
excuses for avoiding this have been exhausted.

3) Appropriate training must be given to all of the mods reviewing
reports so they actually have some sense of what child exploitation
material is. And if they do not have common sense to understand then
they need to be removed.

4) Response time on reported content by the general public needs to be
vastly improved. It should not be days but MINUTES!

And please do not again insult my intelligence by making excuses as to
why this cannot happen and why the traditional reporting methods best
protect children. We all now know that not to be true in the very
least.

I hate to have to keep repeating myself, but if Twitter can do it, so
can Facebook. The only difference is that you have allowed the problem
to become so massive through ignorance that you will need to spend so
much more resources to deal with it. But that is your undisputed
corporate & social – not to mention legal – responsibility.
