Though it has not been confirmed, Brazil’s Aida Mendes may be the oldest skydiver ever following a jump on Saturday.
The 103-year-old skydived in tandem with an instructor near the three-country border of Paraguay, Brazil, and Argentina.
This weekend’s jump was her second since turning 100, but she reportedly filed paperwork to have the jump be counted as Guinness World Record.
The tandem 6-minute-jump was from 9, 842 feet and Mendes underwent a complete physical to ensure she was healthy enough for the jump.
After her jump, which was captured by a cameraman who jumped with them, Mendes said, “In life you gave to be brave, courage is always useful.”
