Ground Beneath Fukushima Sinking, Nuke Water Has 3 Times More Cesium Than Chernobyl's Total Release

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

It is an emergency – has been since 11 March 2011 and will continue to be long into the future,” said Shaun Burnie, an independent nuclear consultant.

He says onsite contaminated water contains three times the caesium released from the 1986 Chernobyl accident – the world’s worst nuclear disaster.  “That underscores the scale of this never-ending threat.”

To Make matters worse…    The Fukushima plant sits smack in the middle of an underground aquifer. Deep beneath the ground, the site is rapidly being overwhelmed by water.

What happens when you pour hundreds of thousands of tons of water (400 metric tons each day times 2.5 years times 365 days in a year equals 365,000 metric tons of water) onto soil which sits above a massive aquifer?

The spent fuel pool at Fukushima Unit 4 is the top short-term threat to humanity, and is a national security issue for America.

Literally everybody should be keping track of this, why TEPCO seems to be the only ones handling it is beyond me.  This is anational security threat to humanity, to earth and every living thing on it.  Its a holocaust in the making.  Slow, painful and deadly.  TEPCO is overwhelmed and have proven their inability to contain this situation.  Ever read Stephen King’s “Under the Dome”?  That is what they should do to Fukushima.  Encapsulate it, seal it off and get rid of it, ship the whole thing out to space orsomething (which is impossible i know).

Encapsulation sounds like a nice, neat solution. It won’t work.

The nuclear material will simply burn through any uncooled container eventually. That’s why this situation is almost hopeless.

To make matters worse, technological devices can’t be used near that much radiation. It fries electronic circuits.

IMHO, any solution must accomplish three goals:

      1. Construction of new cooling systems,
      2. Temporary encapsulation that will inhibit:
      a) Radioactive material dispersing into the air,
      b) Radioactive material getting into the Pacific Ocean, and
      c) Radioactive material getting into the ground water
      3. (The big one) Scooping the radioactive material into containers that are then transported to the new cooling systems, within the temporary encapsulation system.

Mechanical devices will work in the presence of extreme radiation. The challenge is operating them remotely. A system of magnifying mirrors and lenses can be constructed to view the cleanup process from a distance. Another system of pulleys and gears can be constructed to operate the scoops and containers, also from a distance.

What I don’t understand is why there isn’t a crash international effort to implement a solution like this before it’s too late, and radioactive death slowly spreads over the entire planet.

Because, the agenda calls for a population reduction down to Five Hundred Million inhabitants worldwide.

        • zanaelf

This agenda just shows you how unitelligent and stupid they are, not realizing that their population control plan, damages the planet and fauna and flora, which would result them encountering their own deaths.

They are driving aluminum pipes into the ground ahead of the leaking water, they are going to pump liquid nitrogen into the ground and create a frozen barrier to stop the contaminated water while they work on cleaning it up. Honestly it’s they’re best way out at this point. To end this, they are going to have to break up the core material and store it in shielded containers so it’s not a critical mass and generating all the heat and radiation. This is where fuel reprocessing should have come in 30 years ago, so no one was storing huge amounts of spent fuel.

      • PlowingUrMom

reprocessing spent fuel.. i have always wondered why the fuel waste isn’t reused. obviously the waste is generating heat, why cant the heat energy produced from the waste be channeled into other forms of energy production?

        • Neil Armstrong

Only when it can be done in a controlled method that minimizes the risk of exposure for the individuals working with it. This is not controlled in any way it’s very dangerous to even be close to. So the focus right now is to just stop or minimize any further contamination. This has the potential of killing the entire Pacific ocean, and destroying a large portion of North Americas ability to produce healthy food forever. Hopefully we’ll see sea life go down slowly, if there is a threshold crossed that suddenly kills a large portion of marine life, then we are going to experience a not so great smelling west breeze for a very long time maybe forever. We should be pumping the water through oil tankers filtering it through reverse osmosis and recirculating it, but world leaders have chosen to just bury their heads in the sand over this.

    • mbiajc

Man should never should have been and should not be messing around material this dangerous. It is not possible to guarantee there will not be an accident. No guarantee can be made that what ever accident happens will not affect the entire world.

and now we know…….the origins of the ‘bottomless pit’… after all, there’s nothing that’s gonna stop this thing from going straight thru to the core of our planet… what then?… i suppose we’d find out … that is, if our HEAVENLY FATHER didn’t INTERVENE on our behalf… & prevent us from extinguishing ourselves

    • anyoneamongUS

…& meanwhile everyone sits back (toasting day-by-day) expecting that ‘they’ are doin their very best to contain and correct this travesty that should never have been able to occur in the first place,….without proper(reliable and trustworthy) oversight nothing will be done to right this situation… in a couple more years it wont matter anyway… the earth is being poisoned… from the water we drink to the air that we breath to the foods that we eat……. life, as we know it, is gone…….forever gone… it’s only a matter of time … a few months at most…this is the type of thing that cannot go ignored… in the last two years since fukushima we’ve been lied to & told that everythings okay over there…….Not!!!…but for THE GRACE OF GOD,JESUS,THE HOLY SPIRIT…HALLELUJAH,HALLELUJAH,HALLELUJAH AMEN…REPENT…REPENT…….REPENT…………RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST AS LORD AND SAVIOR AND BE ENTERED INTO THE BODY OF CHRIST FOR ETERNITY!!!

How can this be a surprise to anybody? We saw the buildings blown up, on video. We saw high-resolution aerial photos of what was left. We knew reactor 3 was gone, blasted into the sky. We knew that reactors 1 and 2 had a couple of hundred tons of hot reactor fuel, uncontained and uncontainable. And that was days after the tsunami.

Who expected this situation to be OVER WITH?

I suppose after a couple of years we will get around to acknowledging the OTHER enormous problem here. The reactor 4 building blew up, even though the reactor was not running and there was no fuel in it.

Hydrogen is produced when the zirconium fuel rod cladding reacts with water, during a melt-down. There was no reactor 4 meltdown. It had no fuel in it.

The lower part of those buildings was thick reinforced concrete, and hydrogen fires cannot disintegrate concrete, anyway. And those plants had hydrogen-venting systems, anyway.

The aircraft carrier Reagan detected nuclear bomb fallout. The buildings that were blown up could not have been blown up by hydrogen.

Ignore Deny Ignore Deny Ignore Deny all you want. The thousand pound cameras Israel installed in those reactor buildings contained forward-positioned nuclear bombs.

    • scott

Two thoughts 1. Denial is the greatest of human propensities. 2. How about the use of thorium as a fuel source. As for an answer to this problem, I don’t have it but it should be the worlds #1 priority. We don’t have the luxury of sticking our heads in the sand. This one isn’t going away on it’s own. As bad as BP’s gulf crisis, it pales in comparison to this one.

    • DARKSIDE099

IMO Freezing the ground or doing anything from the looks of this article will = to ground caving in which will = to the whole thing sinking and blowing like a A-Bomb! This will result in all of the 3 islands of Japan going down. Leaving the big island only and little hope. Am I right?

Also know for a fact freezing ground = to weakening it since foundation is already weak earth wise!

      IT’S HOPELESS!

    • zanaelf

It is possible to do that, if governments stop arsing around war, and putting the value of money more over the value of life, creating stress and unecessary anxiety focusing humanity away from reality of the elements and nature and the universe into this matrix of economics and beliefs in deities. It has become essential and necessary for the survival of humanity to change the paradigm immediately, release the reverse engineered ET technology, and let people know they not alone in the universe, get rid of borders and boundaries, and have the humbleness to ask for advice and help from star people, as the star people are willing to help on the statistical ratio on people’s positive perspective towards extraterrestrials. An ET embassy is the fastest way to achieve an exclusion zone from the religio-political elite who are messing up the planet and people’s lives. A place where Snowden would have gone to, and seeked asylum off planet.

    • Riceman

Perhaps if environmentalists hadn’t impeded construction of a newer and safer nuclear power generation system, THIS ONE could have been retired 20 years ago…oops…there I go again…making sense…

      • LifeIs

Don’t worry, you are not. Nobody has proposed safer plants. Newer plants are rare because of the very high cost. Tepco and the Japanese government have never taken the environment into consideration.

And don’t forget: (1) the Fukushima operators could not control the reactors, and what they reported -inability to operate valves- sounds like what the Stuxnet virus causes.

        (2) THERE WAS NO FUEL IN REACTOR 4. IT WASN’T RUNNING. The top of the reactor vessel was OFF. There was no meltdown there. Therefore there could be no hydrogen buildup there. (Hydrogen is produced when the zirconium cladding of fuel rods reacts with hot water, during a meltdown.) And those plants had a hydrogen venting system. And hydrogen fires cannot disintegrate the thick concrete lower parts of those buildings.

The buildings were blown up by nuclear bombs, probably concealed in the 1,000 pound cameras installed in the buildings by Israel. The aircraft carrier Reagan detected fallout from bombs, in addition to the reactor fallout.

You got it almost right it was a Israeli nuke that was detonated on the Fault OffShore hence the
Earthquake and Tsunami that was detected off shore.
Israel denied to have Nukes but we know better.

Why is it sinking? Is the meltdown continuing. Do we have a China syndrome under way? I think Japan is not telling us everything. http://coldwarwarrior.com/

    • Banderman

Maybe those crazy liberals can get Obama to sign an Executive Order prohibiting Fukushima from pumping any more radiation into the air, ocean, and environment. For a dude that yammers endlessly about ‘carbons being released into the atmosphere’, Obama has proven himself to be an abject hypocrite and wholly irrelevant. He should step aside and let a real leader…lead.

    • mortimerzilch

this WHOLE CATASTROPHE has been handled THE STUPID JAPANESE way…to protect FACE by Tepco. It is disgusting. This is an ecological crisis of global proportions. The TEPCO executives should have committed mass hari-kari and fallen on their swords in public. Every country in the world with technical ability should have been brought in on this from day ONE. This will ruin the western Pacific, and maybe beyond….
