Minnesota Plans to Starve Drug Users

The new Drug Felons Policy CM 0011.27.03 by the state of Minnesota is discriminatory and unconstitutional. It basically states that anyone convicted of a drug felony in the past fifteen years has to have a Chemical Dependency Assessment and are subject to random drug tests forever to receive general assistance. They will either attend drug treatment, have completed drug treatment or be deemed to not need drug treatment to qualify.  They say nothing about there being any end to random testing at any time.

The state cannot target a segment of the population to persecute with Draconian policies.
A lawsuit will be filed in federal court to get this travesty of legislation struck down. Furthermore the Department of Human Services is being deceptive and fails to mention the random drug testing when
trying to set up appointments for CD assessments. They must disclose up front that a drug test may be required. This is more subterfuge to sucker people into disqualifying them self from a badly needed lifeline.

It’s bad enough they are cutting SNAP benefits by 5.5% when even the price of potatoes are over $1 a pound, but this is criminal civil rights and constitutional violations.

I intent to seek a federal injunction to put a stop this madness.

This law tramples the 5th amendment in that it is self incriminatory, a denial of due process and it is also double jeopardy.

You cannot penalize a person more than once for a crime and this legislation clearly does that.
Any imposition placed on an ex-felon who has met his/her obligations to the state is further penalizing them for the same crime. Nor can you force a person to give evidence against themselves that can deny them the basic necessities of life, food.

Is this what this once great nation has come to? Trying to think of every dodge possible to deny the citizens beneficial lifelines after rampant corporatism has ruined any chance of getting a job that pays a living wage?

Are the politicians trying to start a revolution in this country? How would they presume that people who are out of work feed themselves if benefits are cut off? Surely if anything this will make for a crime wave when the only option destitute people have to get food is to steal it. Or on the other hand the people may well rise up en masse and overthrow a repressive government. Clearly no good can come from such repressive legislation.

Maybe that’s the plan, create a reason to murder millions so the corporations and the obscenely wealthy don’t have to feed them. After all the human race has always seen mass murder as a solution to problems.

Our politicians are sociopaths who blame the victims in every instance and have no humanity left in them. They have become soulless creatures driven only by greed and power.

The oligarchy of this country can not and will not be allowed to starve off segments of the population. That is crime against humanity and any legislators who votes for such measures are criminals.

Today they target ex-felons, maybe tomorrow it will be people who have had a traffic ticket will no longer qualify, or perhaps anyone who hasn’t lived in the same place for the last fifteen years. Maybe if you don’t have a “Q” and a “Z” in your name? Where will the absurdity end?

This is not about targeting ex-drug offenders, it is about justifying the denial of basic necessities of life to people who are destitute because the country has been strip-mined for all the good employment opportunities. It just starts with the ex-felons because that is a segment of the population that is most vulnerable to this type of discrimination and repression. But this is only the start and there is much more to come. The plan is to cut all lifeline benefits to everyone.

The reason so many politicians are against SNAP, Social Security and health care is because they are too wealthy to ever use those programs so they see no need for them. Why pay for something you’ll never use? That is the mindset of these people and that is the mindset that starts wars.

I seem to remember just such a scenario that began with the ex-cons and then went on to the mentally retarded and genetic defectives, next it was the homosexuals and Romany, and last it was the Jews. That didn’t end well and neither will this.
