Imran Khan launched UN Goodwill Ambassador Celina Jaitly’s debut music album The Welcome, in Mumbai, on Wednesday, April 30, 2014.

The Bollywood music video for gay rights was released by the United Nations Free & Equal campaign featuring Bollywood star and former Miss India Celina Jaitly.

“We created the first ever Bollywood music video for gay rights with our Equality Champion Celina Jaitly to promote a Free and Equal world,” the video director says. “It’s a beautiful reminder that everyone should be warmly welcomed by family, no matter who they are or whom they love.”

Celina Jaitly, the goodwill ambassador of United Nations Free and Equal Campaign, says her debut single on the rights of homosexuals gave her a unique opportunity to help the community.

“This is the first ever United Nations endeavour for a Bollywood styled campaign. It was for a cause. I have sung and starred in the video and it is a beautiful story for LGBT issues,” informed Celina Jaitly at the event.

The former Miss India, on a sabbatical after welcoming twins Winston and Viraaj with husband Peter Haag in 2012, says music has always held a special place in her life.

“Singing has been a part of my life since I was a little girl. I come from a family where music and singing has been a very integral part. My aunts are masters in music.” said Celina Jaitly.

Share this if you believe everyone should be welcomed into their family’s hearts, regardless of their sexual orientation.

“Life as an actor is very lonely. Now my life is very fulfilled. I have a family, husband and adorable sons. I have my career, family and I am in a good place. It took many long lonely and desolate years to come to this place in a demanding profession,” Ms. Jaitly said.
