OUTRAGEOUS: Ebola Stricken Siera Leon Citizen Pays State Department to Come to America

In an odd and frightening twist to the Ebola story, an Ebola patient’s wife asked to pay to have her husband brought to America for treatment. Wife, Isatu Salia, who is a U.S. resident, offered to cover the cost of evacuating her husband, Dr. Martin Salia — who is a Sierra Leone citizen, from Siera Leon to Nebraska for care.
Unbelievably, the Department of State (DoS) agreed to Mrs. Salia’s request and the Doctor arrived in Omaha in critical condition Saturday while no one was paying attention to the news.

Dr. Salia was moved from plane to ambulance by staff in biohazard suits and transported by Omaha Fire & Rescue Nebraska Medical Centre’s biocontainment unit. Two previous Ebola patients were successfully treated at this facility. 9 out of 10 people treated for the virus in the U.S. have survived. The United States’ single casualty to the deadly disease was Thomas Duncan.
