10 Things You Won't Believe Are Banned in Schools! Crazy!

There is an understandable instinct in most humans to worry after and take care of their offspring but do you ever think that maybe we go to far? Rules involving children are usually in place to ensure their safety and make it possible for them to eventually grow up and become useful members of society. However, some schools around the world have begun to implement absolutely absurd rules that go beyond the instinctual protection of these protohumans and instead potentially limit them as intelligent creatures.

By banning things like the free use of imagination and warm basic human contact are we as a society stunting the leaders of tomorrow? By restricting the words that children are allowed to use are we infringing upon their right to free speech? A school district restricted two girls from wearing bracelets aligned to a cancer foundation that proudly stated “I [heart] Boobies” and was almost taken all the way to the Supreme Court in grueling legal battle that lasted months.

Beyond worrisome notions like limiting a child’s potential we have items on this list that are just plain ridiculous. Students across the world have been banned from reading silly books, eating particular snacks, playing weirdly addictive collectible games (I’m looking at you Pogs) all in the name of their own protection. How far is too far? What has happened to the survival of the fittest? Maybe it’s time we stop coddling children and learn to take a step back and let them learn.
