Over the weekend almost every media outlet in America was running wall-to-wall coverage of a very damaging recording of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump making vulgar remarks about women in 2005 that had conveniently surfaced two days before the second presidential debate.
Though no one denied the authenticity of the recoding, many questioned the timing of it’s release — so close to a debate and only a month before Election Day.
The fire of speculation gained more fuel when The New York Post reported Monday that Billy Bush had talked about the recording in August at the Olympics. Bush reportedly mentioned the tape’s existence to NBC staffers, which caused them to go looking for it.
