Heading to the range with a single-shot Savage Rascal .22, Ellerman walks you through a straightforward day at the range with the kid-o’s.
Starting with basic range safety (“That’s something you can talk about with your child no matter how young they are”) to eye dominance, loading, firearms manipulation, nomenclature, securing firearms (there is a good tip on ARs in there) and marksmanship.
Going past that, Ellerman, who spends a lot of time– when he isn’t doing firearms reviews or testing– teaches young marksmanship classes, talks about how to make it fun for the youth involved.
Because if it is fun, they will want to do it, right?
