Man fatally shot after breaking into ex-girlfriend’s home (VIDEO)

A 29-year-old woman shot her ex-boyfriend Friday after he broke into her home in Eastlake, Ohio, early Friday morning.

According to the Eastlake Police Department the woman called 911 and reported that the man broke into her home and assaulted her before she shot him a single time.

When officers and paramedics arrived on the scene, they found the suspect, later identified as 33-year-old Leon Johnson, lying on the floor inside the home and suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper leg. He was transported to an area hospital where he later died.

The woman and another witness were being questioned.

The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed against the woman at this time.
