First let’s get the terminology straight. The words immigrant, migrant and undocumented are not interchangeable. Actual immigrants enter the United State legally, apply for citizenship, embrace our culture, language and history and become naturalized Americans. That does not mean they forget their ethnic roots, but things do change. Americans are not hyphenated — as President Theodore Roosevelt noted when he addressed the Knights of Columbus on Oct. 12, 1915. This New York Times article headlined Roosevelt bars the hyphenated,” was published the following day.

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) is a program thrust upon us as an executive action by Barack Obama.  Since its inception in 2012, DACA has granted more than 800,000 recipients, including more than 120,000 Texans, a renewable, two-year work permit and a reprieve from deportation proceedings.

A toothless “remedy,” it purportedly applies to illegals brought to the United States by their illegally invading parents before they were 16 years old. In order to qualify for this absurd generosity, they must have been age 35 or younger as of June 2012. There is no way to verify their claims, which makes enforcement of the program a complete farce.

But according to House Speaker Paul Ryan rewarding the illegal alien children of lawbreaking parents who often paid transporting ’coyotes’  $ thousands to usher them into the U.S. is just good public policy.

Responding to a question about DACA, on his hometown radio station WCLO in Janesville, Wisconsin on Friday, Ryan said Congress was working on a legislative fix to preserve the program.

“I actually don’t think he should do that,” Ryan said of Trump’s consideration of terminating the program. “I believe that this is something that Congress has to fix.” Ryan neglects the fact that Trump’s successful campaign hinged on the promise of adherence to the law, building a fence and deportations of illegals.

Having a Republican President and majorities in both the U.S. House and Senate is worthless when amnesty supporters Sens. John McCain, Jeff Flake and House Speaker Paul Ryan promote programs such as DACA, that will ultimately increase the Democrat base and relegate the Republican Party to Whig-like obscurity.

The so-called “dreamers” represent a dual assault on law-abiding, taxpaying American citizens and legal immigrants, since public universities grant illegals in-state tuition. American parents who send their children to out-of-state colleges have to pay higher tuition than illegals. Most importantly, this scam results in illegals taking the limited number of spaces available for students at public universities, crowding out deserving American students and eventually competing against them in the job market.

The Trump administration has reportedly been in discussions concerning what to do about DACA, responding to the deadline on an ultimatum issued by 10 state attorneys general, led by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. They warn that DACA needs to sunset by Sept. 5 or the states will attempt to end it in court. Read the letter they sent to U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

RINO Ryan has long been sympathetic toward the so-called “dreamers.” You know them, though their acronym has morphed from D.R.E.A.M. (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors), to simply “dreamers.” Shouldn’t American citizen kids have the right to have their dreams fulfilled?

And hypocrite Paul Ryan? He also opposes a border fence, though he has had an impenetrable one built around his own mansion.
