it will be interesting to watch the irs prove that a non existent coin is income..
Until Bitcoin are exchanged for cash or gold they have no intrinsic value. Until then they are worth the air they are printed upon – no profit made, hence no income. At best they represent an uncleared investment like a currency trade or a professional gambler’s chips on the table. Designate the cost of Bitcoin as a business expense – then pay tax on the income when exchanged. If someone says otherwise – they are dead wrong.
