After first digging in his heels against calls for him to resign from his U.S. House seat amid allegations of tens of thousands in payoffs from a congressional taxpayer paid “hush fund” — maintained solely for victims of sexual harassment —- John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI) has conceded to the charges against him and quit. In his case being able to brag about assaulting female staffers might fall into the arena of braggadocio.  Conyers is 88 years old.  Implausibly, he has been  reelected in his Detroit district for 52 years. He wants his same named violent son, to follow him into the hallowed D.C. halls. John the Third was arrested for stabbing his girlfriend, but mysteriously never prosecuted.

Here in Arizona we’ve had the misfortune of having octogenarian John McCain run for, and win, another 6-year senate term in 2016, so we know firsthand how clueless voters can be. He remains in office, intentionally causing incalculable damage, though suffering from a malignant brain tumor. These facts led us to explore the elderly in the U.S. House and Senate. As of December 7, 2017, 5 senators are in their 80s, 18 are in their 70s,

Quorum provides the facts inThe 115th Congress is among the oldest in history,” noting “18 of the 33 Senators running for reelection in 2018 will be 65 or older. If they win, another six years in office would put Senators Feinstein, Hatch, Nelson, and Sanders well into their 80’s. Looking ahead at the 2020 elections, 21 of the 33 Senators running for reelection will be 65 or older.” Many House members are more than twice the median age of their constituents and could be their grandparents. Be sure to read the concluding portion regarding President Trump’s call for term limits

Legistorm  breaks down the members and staffers ages, showing clear evidence that the younger staffers do the work while the senior citizen members haul in the six-figure salaries and perks. These same D.C. insiders continually push for amnesty for illiterate illegal aliens from Mexico and Central America, absurdly telling us we need these workers to underwrite Social Security. Minimum wage earning illegals with a third grade education are not going to keep Social Security afloat  Legal immigrants, who respect our country and laws, possess educational credentials and skills are a different story.

Breitbart News reports lame duck Sen. Jeff Flake is working with Democrats on revising another Gang of Eight style amnesty scheme. Not surprisingly, by the time he dropped out of the 2018 senate race to avoid an embarrassing defeat, Flake had a paltry 18% approval rating.
