Hot seat in the Middle East!

Almost every newspaper you go to now has a story about this very topic and why shouldn’t it? Ever since Trump made the decision to acknowledge Jerusalem as Israel’s capital it has sparked outrage across the middle east. It does not help that Israel is already surrounded by armies that wish to see it’s total destruction. The U.S. is seeking to quell the global outrage.

Of course now many countries are speaking out against President Trump’s decision. Germany denounced the U.S. as it’s friend saying they could not rely on them. Europe also rejected Trump’s move saying it will only hurt the peace process. Russia and Turkey also spoke out against the move saying it “defies common sense” and only makes the U.S. a “partner in bloodshed”.

Many of you might be asking the question of why is all of this happening now? What is so important about this moment in history? Why didn’t it happen sooner? All are valid questions with logical answers. The answer is timing, God’s timing to be precise! Now before you start thinking “oh here we go again” listen to the reasoning.

In the Bible there are specific prophecies about the End of days, some are contained within the book of Revelation but you may be surprised to know that most are in the Old Testament. The ones that are specifically about Israel becoming a nation again and a timeline of events that are to unfold before the Great day of the Lord occurs.

Jeremiah 29:10 For thus saith the Lord, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.

Israel has just celebrated its 70th year since it became a nation once again, this is important because 70 is also a biblically important number. 70 Nations were prophesied to come against Israel. Noah had 70 grand children. There were 70 Elders of Israel. This period of time was prophesied to be the time when the nations of the world will gather against Jerusalem and Israel.

Prior to this announcement about Jerusalem, we have seen the beginning of the Muslim nations gather around Israel through different wars in the middle-east that began in 2001 with the attacks on the world trade center. There is much more to that story that has biblical implications of fulfilling prophecy, but that is for another day. We have seen the invasion of Iraq and then the struggles within Syria that started in 2011. We have seen Egypt erupt in the Arab spring which has never been witnessed before. There were a lot of factors in play that allowed for the Nations to surround Israel with their armies. So how did God do this? Well, he did it by having those armies focused on other problems surrounding Israel instead of Israel itself.

Now, with the announcement of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, these armies are not focused on those wars they were involved in originally but now their attention is focused on Israel. This is following the announcements of ISIS being defeated in Iraq and Syria. Weird huh? Right at the same time as this event. So there is no more need for those armies to be in Syria right? Well the U.S. just gave the Iranian Army in Syria reason to not go home but to focus on Invasion of Israel from the north. If they do that they will pass through the valley of Megiddo… where Har-Megiddo is, commonly translated today as “Armageddon”.

That is right, the timing of all this could not be more perfect. The wars that kept those armies in place has come to an end and now their attention is on Jerusalem.

Zechariah 14: 1-3 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

The Day of the Lord is coming, it is at the door. These nations are already planning on how they will invade Israel to reclaim Jerusalem for themselves. It is only a matter of time.
