Enemy Of Liberty: AG Jeff Sessions Stomps On The Will Of The American People, Rescinds Policy Allowing Legal Marijuana

In a stunning announcement, Attorney General and old-school drug crusader Jeff Sessions has rescinded a policy that allowed for legalized marijuana to flourish in numerous states across the country in a move that directly stomps on the will of the American people who have consistently made clear that they support legalized marijuana.

The announcement comes on the heels of the state of California allowing residents to purchase recreational marijuana after the state voted in favor to stop the madness that has been the federal governments war on science.

Sessions new “stance” on the issue will allow overzealous federal prosecutors in states where the plant is legal to decide themselves on how aggressively they wish to enforce the pathetic federal law that prohibits marijuana in the first place.

The Associated Press reports:

Sessions’ plan drew immediate strong objection from Republican Sen. Cory Gardner of Colorado, one of eight states that have legalized marijuana for recreational use.

Gardner said in a tweet that the Justice Department “has trampled on the will of the voters” in Colorado and other states. He said the action would contradict what Sessions had told him before the attorney general was confirmed and that he was prepared “to take all steps necessary” to fight the step including holding up the confirmation of Justice Department nominees.

Sessions rescinded the policy by president Barack Obama’s Justice Department that has generally barred federal law enforcement officials from interfering with marijuana sales in states where the drug is legal.

“In deciding which marijuana activities to prosecute under these laws with the Department’s finite resources, prosecutors should follow the well-established principles that govern all federal prosecutions,” by considering the seriousness of the crime and its impact on the community, Sessions wrote in a one-page memo to the nation’s federal prosecutors.

In other words, this is hardcore federal government overreach at its finest and actually threatens to undermine the entire anti-globalist narrative surrounding President Trump’s supposed agenda.

Unfortunately, many Americans saw this move coming after Trump nominated Sessions for the attorney general position due to the former Senators anti-science stance on all things marijuana.

In fact, The Daily Sheeple’s own Lily Dane warned of this very danger on the day that Sessions was nominated.

One of the most controversial things Sessions has said was about the Ku Klux Klan. He said he thought they were “okay, until he learned that they smoked marijuana.”

That comment was made years ago, but Sessions is still a very vocal opponent of legalizing cannabis – for both recreational and medicinal use.

I guess he’s an opponent of science too, because to date, there are over 22,000 published studies in the scientific literature that reference the medicinal benefits of cannabis.

Not only is Sessions apparently anti-science and anti-health freedom, he totally digs one of the most dangerous and hated government agencies:

“I’m a big fan of the DEA”, he said during a hearing with the Senate Judiciary Committee.

At that hearing, Sessions said of marijuana – and I am not making this up – “Lady Gaga says she’s addicted to it and it is not harmless.”

Right, because Lady Gaga’s opinion is far more credible than, oh, decades of scientific research.

Make no mistake, this move by AG Sessions is a complete and utter disaster and threatens to turn millions of Americans against the president at a time when the deep state is moving forward with their plans to take him out.

One has to wonder why Trump is even letting this happen, but whatever the reasons may be, it is absolutely a mistake that could hurt him for years to come.
