If Trump destroys the nuclear deal, Iran will fall to its hardliners

The above video was released April 30th, 2018 by RT. In the video, Netanyahu briefed the world about Iran’s secret nuclear weapons program. Many believe it was directed specifically at President Trump to influence him to pull out of the Iran nuclear deal.

Iran’s economy has been in a fragile state for a very long time. Iran needed this deal to keep their economy floating and allow President Rouhani to continue his reforms. If the U.S. pulls out of the deal, the money will stop and sanctions return to Iran. It will almost certainly cripple the economy and not to mention that the Iranians will feel completely betrayed by the U.S.

Perhaps more importantly, the collapse of the deal would be seen by the Iranian people as a huge betrayal. In 2013, Iranians brought the era of Holocaust-denier Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (despised at home after a fraudulent re-election in 2009), to a close. They put their trust in the reform-minded Hassan Rouhani, who subsequently fulfilled his promise to them of resolving the nuclear dispute with the west. Iran’s tech-savvy young people are by and large more progressive than previous generations. Last year, 24 million Iranians re-elected Rouhani by a landslide in an endorsement of his work on the deal. Yet just as the agreement is beginning to deliver, and with Iran fully complying, a new US administration seems set on scuppering it.

If the Nuclear deal does get scrapped then Iram will turn to Russia for assistance. There is so many factors to consider when trying to figure out what exactly the consequences of it will be.
