Today we have a very special and inspiring guest, Dr. Wenyi Wang.

She’s here to talk about the atrocities, specifically the evil medical practices happening in China, and she also has a special message for the liberal TV personality, Rachel Maddow, host of her MSNBC namesake show, who made some erroneous and insulting comments on her show about Wenyi.

Dr. Wang is an M.D. and pharmacologist, who grew up and studied medicine in China. As a student in the 70s, she first learned how the communist party was taking organs from executed prisoners, some as young as 18 or younger, and using them for transplants.

In China, it goes against the everyday culture to donate organs, yet China has built a lucrative organ transplant business, with many customers coming from all over the globe.

There are websites promising very short wait times for a compatible donor. Whereas in the U.S. you have to wait months, or years, in China, they estimate that it’s generally days to a couple of weeks wait time to find a suitable organ donor.

Dear Ms. Maddow,

As someone who was personally targeted on your August 20, 2019, MSNBC talk show, I write to correct errors in the broadcast content. The show included a lengthy biased discussion of my spontaneous protest during the then Chinese President Hu Jintao’s state visit to the White House on April 20, 2006.

I feel MSNBC ‘s report has misled viewers in many ways without exposing the horrors of the human rights abuses that spurred me to speak out. MSNBC’s audience deserves to learn the truth regarding the severity and cruelty of the 20-year-long persecution which includes the live forced organ harvesting from adherents of the peaceful spiritual movement that began in China in1992.

Despite two decades of oppression, Falun Gong has continued to spread throughout China and to over 100 countries around the globe. Practitioners of Falun Gong are seen throughout the world as honest, compassionate and hardworking individuals of high moral character who have been honored by government and business leaders on multiple continents. It is only in mainland China that Falun Gong is persecuted and vilified.

White House Incident

Please be advised that the Epoch Times management had no idea I would act to violate White House press protocol in 2006. A formal apology was made by the Epoch Times at the time and I have not worked for them since.

As a highly trained physician and scientist with an MD from Jilin University, a PhD in Pharmacology, Physiology and Developmental Neurobiology from the University of Chicago, and postgraduate medical training in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Laboratory Medicine at both the University of California San Diego and the Mount Sinai Medical Center of New York (plus many years experience of teaching and researching in Biomedical Science), what would be so important that I would risk my reputation or my freedom by crying out at a White House press conference?

A few months earlier, in March of 2006, two eyewitnesses came forward to expose the darkest of human rights abuses, the live organ harvesting of Falun Gong prisoners of conscience. I spoke out to help save innocent lives. If you saw a person severely injured in a car accident on the street, would you not act immediately to stop traffic coming from all directions in order to protect the victim and rush him/her to the hospital emergency room as soon as possible?

As a lead investigative reporter and researcher of medically related crimes, I interacted closely with both witnesses from China who made serious accusations that the forced organ harvesting of living Falun Gong practitioners had taken placed on a massive scale in China in the early 2000s. One witness was Annie, whose husband had removed the eyeballs and other organs from over 2000 living Falun Gong prisoners of conscience. These practitioners subsequently died in great pain as a direct result of vital organ removal and massive bleeding.

Further online study and phone call investigations into China’s transplant industry revealed that during the early 2000s there was an exponential increase in the number of transplant hospitals in China. Transplant hospitals advertised widely on the Internet that they were able to find any type of organ for patients in just a few weeks.

Additionally, hospital websites publicly advertised prices for organs, ranging from $3,000 for a pair of corneas to $180,000 for a heart, in four different languages to the international community.

As a physician, I know that being able to supply organs suitable for transplant in such a short period of time pointed to the possibility that China had a large living organ donor pool, like livestock, available for butchering on demand. As someone who grew up in China, I felt the two witnesses’ accusations were very credible, given the well-known fact that transplant medicine in communist China depended almost entirely on organs from executed prisoners taken without consent of the prisoners or their families. Practitioners of Falun Gong became a population targeted for organ harvesting as a result of the Communist Party’s genocidal policy towards this largest of all faith-based groups. I called out during the White House press conference to expose this awful crime to the international community and to ask for an immediate investigation into China’s human rights violation so that lives could be saved.

My wish to save others prompted me to act. It is the social responsibility of the media to uphold humanitarian principles and to expose abuses. Yet, your MSNBC report used my independent act of protest to attack the Epoch Times in an unethical way without exposing the crime of forced organ harvesting in Communist China. Chinese media, which is state-controlled and serves as the mouthpiece of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), uses lies and slander about peaceful, faith-based, and innocent victims to deceive its audience. MSNBC, with its recent report, is acting in a similar fashion, as if complicit with the CCP’s media objectives.

I have felt gratitude and relief, after the initial 2006 report by the Epoch Times of genocide by organ harvesting in China, that many independent investigative groups, researchers, NGOs, and government agencies have spent over a decade investigating and exposing illegal and unethical transplant practices in China. Among these independent investigators are well-respected champions of human rights, legislators and physicians. Their work has resulted in multiple Nobel Peace Prize nominations.

The United States Congress (2016 H.Res. 343), the European Parliament (2013 Resolution), and the Council of Europe (2015 Convention) have all spoken out to condemn China’s organ transplant practices.

Most recently, a People’s Tribunal, the independent Tribunal into Forced Organ Harvesting from Prisoners of Conscience in China was formed to evaluate these credible reports about the Chinese government-directed harvesting of organs from living prisoners of conscience. The Tribunal, chaired by Sir Geoffrey Nice, prosecutor at the international tribunal for crimes committed in the former Yugoslavia,declared in its final judgement that organ harvesting from non-consenting prisoners of conscience has been occurring and continues to occur in China today, recognizing that practitioners of Falun Gong is the primary group targeting for organ harvesting.

What is Falun Gong?

For thousands of years, the Chinese people have believed in the oneness of heaven and earth with a strong respect and belief in the Divine as evidenced by such spiritual traditions as Daoism and Buddhism. By practicing the cultivation of spirit and character, many have aimed to transcend to higher realms of consciousness and reach spiritual consummation.

Falun Gong is an advanced spiritual practice of both mind and body. Adherents are spiritually guided by the universal principles of Truth, Compassion, and Tolerance to improve moral character. Five meditative exercises purify the body. Constant improvement of both mind and body allows for the attainment of spiritual consummation.

Because of its miraculous disease-curing efficacy and positive effects on character, Falun Gong attracted more than 100 million people after its introduction to the public in 1992. Among them were many government officials and their family members, including politburo members and even Jiang Zemin’s family. The practice spread quickly by word of mouth inside China and internationally.

Why is Falun Gong persecuted by the CCP?

In July 1999, the then CCP leader, Jiang Zemin, launched intense, nationwide persecution against Falun Gong. There were two primary reasons for this violent campaign: 1) fear of the sheer number of Falun Gong followers, which surpassed CCP membership, and 2) the jealousy of its popularity as expressed by the admiration throughout society towards Falun Gong and its founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi.

Anyone with knowledge of China’s history and the nature of the CCP would know that the CCP has never tolerated the coexistence of any independent spiritual belief system or philosophy. The atheism-based doctrine of the CCP has actively undermined and destroyed the 5,000-year-old divinely inspired culture of China.

Since 1949, when the CCP seized power, it has launched various campaigns of suppression including:the Great Leap Forward; the anti-right-wing movement; the decade-long Cultural Revolution of the 1960s; the Tiananmen Square Massacre;the prolonged persecution of Tibetan Buddhists, underground Christians,and Uyghur Muslims; and the twenty-year-long persecution of Falun Gong. The CCP’s persecution campaigns over the last 70 years have resulted in the massive loss of more than 80 million innocent citizens.

It is noteworthy to point out the role played by China’s state-run media during these politically-driven persecutions. State-run television, radio, and newspapers have all been used as mouthpieces for the CCP in order to justify its suppression by spreading lies, slanderous information, and even by fabricating violent incidents to defame the target group or population. All such tactics have been used against the practitioners of Falun Gong over the past 20 years, and most recently, against the peaceful protesters in Hong Kong.

China’s totalitarian government maintains its power and the suppression of its people by using the media to spread brainwashing propaganda filled with hatred inducing lies and CCP ideology, not by the rule of law. The CCP has fabricated incidents to defame Falun Gong, such as claiming practitioners have committed suicide or eaten their own babies. The supposed Tiananmen Square immolation by Falun Gong practitioners was actually a publicity stunt arranged by CCP’s police to foment public opinion against and hatred of Falun Gong, thereby justifying governmental suppression. Unfortunately, Western media has long parroted such contrived stories, lending credence to their veracity.

When the persecution of Falun Gong began, massive arrests occurred nationwide without due process of law. Millions of practitioners were incarcerated in “re-education camps” or prisons where they were tortured, with many dying from inhuman brutality. Falun Gong practitioners have been subjected to more than 100 different means of torture and psychiatric abuse. Many hundreds of thousands are missing without a trace.

Despite such evil oppression, Falun Gong practitioners have persevered in their peaceful civil disobedience movement, facing the unjust persecution, which blatantly violates China’s own constitution, with steadfast faith while continuing to spread the truth about the goodness of Falun Gong throughout China and abroad.

Transplant medicine in China

In the early 2000s, shortly after the onset of the persecution of Falun Gong, China’s transplant industry began to grow exponentially. Despite an ongoing decline in death-row executions and the absence of a voluntary organ donation system before 2010, China has since become the world’s leader in the number of transplant surgeries performed annually. In fact, China continues to expand its transplant system abroad through organ sharing agreements, collaborative academic research, clinical training, and transplant tourism.

Unfortunately, the Chinese government has never adequately addressed where so many organs have been sourced from. This rapid growth in China’s transplant industry has been supported by generous government funding and has created enormous wealth for those involved. Several international investigators have all independently concluded that Falun Gong practitioners have been unlawfully incarcerated and tortured while also being medically examined with blood testing and retail organ evaluations. The only logical conclusion is that Falun Gong practitioners, held as a living organ donor pool, have been the primary source of organs, killed on demand to supply the insatiable needs of the lucrative Chinese organ transplant industry. Investigators have also collected the names of hospitals and hundreds of medical personnel in China involved in organ harvesting over the past decade.

Reflection on the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong and organ harvesting crimes

I felt privileged to participate with the Epoch Times team in reporting the news of China’s organ harvesting crimes in 2006. As a physician and scientist, I was well qualified to research and report on medical and psychiatric abuses. The MSNBC report, instead of exposing this unethical medical practice and severe human rights atrocity, denigrated both the Epoch Times and me while repeating CCP lies about Falun Gong.

How is it that media in a democratic country takes such a shameful stance? If our media aligns itself with the CCP’s dogma and does not criticize the CCP’s human rights violations, what kind of world will the next generation grow up to?

There are many kind-hearted people in the world who have not yet been fully informed about what has happened in China during the last 20 years. This is largely due to the lack of or biased reporting by Western media. All people in the world need to be made aware of the evilness of the CCP’s organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners, an unprecedented crime against humanity. It is the media’s responsibility, as well as the responsibility of all individuals, to expose and help stop such horrific crimes in order to protect the integrity of human dignity.

Lastly, I hope that MSNBC can correct itself and report instead on those victimized by brutal persecution, not only Falun Gong practitioners who died by having their organs illegally and unethically harvested, but also all the people around the world who have been misled by the propaganda of an immoral and corrupt totalitarian government.
