Animals Are So Aware of Energy

Rose De Dan, Wild Reiki and Shamanic Healing LLC, is a mesa carrier in the Peruvian Andean Medicine Tradition, Reiki Master Teacher, animal communicator, author and artist. In practice and in partnership with her companion animals, Rose offers private sessions and ceremonies for humans and animals, and teaches classes and workshops in Reiki and shamanism in Seattle, Washington.

Animals are so aware of energy. Recently I was telling my hair stylist about the anecdotes people have shared about their animals who listen to my monthly Storytelling for Animals and People which includes Reiki and shamanic energy as well as animal communication. How one cat family kept requesting replays of the audio to soothe the stress from introduction of a new puppy, and in another home the stories helped a dog and cat calm their fears from a thunderstorm.

We discussed how animals hear and feel so much more than just sound when they listen—the content they are being exposed to is important. We talked about how Amazon/Audible is launching audios for dogs, but that their emphasis is on the sound of the voices, not the story. As and animal communicator I don’t understand why they would choose Jane Austen (much as I love her) rather than a story line that a dog might be interested in like The Incredible Journey.

And then my stylist shared that she used to leave NPR on for her dog as company when she was at work. But after the presidential election she began to notice that her dog seemed agitated rather than calm when she got home. She ended up changing to the old movie channel and her dog’s behavior grew calmer.

Energy and content matter to animals (and people).

In April I launched monthly telecall Storytelling for Animals and People at the request of the animals and guidance from my allies.

The stories focus on celebrating animals as teachers, healers, friends and guides, and are drawn from my personal experiences. Currently the main focus is on animal teachers in my life prior to becoming a professional energy healer and animal communicator.

Before each call I open and set sacred space with both shamanism and Reiki, inviting All My Relations and my allies to the shamanic storytelling time. And in revisiting the past has raised my awareness of exactly how much the animals have guided my steps to the healing path I am now on.

And hearing the stories listener share about how their animals respond warms my heart. Not only do many blended animal/human families gather quietly to listen to the stories live, the audio recording available afterward seems to be equally popular.
