Pilgrims on Mt Fuji by Brad Hammonds
Mt. Fuji is considered the holiest of the “Three Holy Mountains” of Japan and has for centuries been a place of pilgrimage for Shinto, Buddhist, and Fujiko (yes, a fuji based system of beliefs). Whatever the system of beliefs, climbing Mt. Fuji can be a very spiritual experience. Here, some modern pilgrims can be seen following the path carved out over hundreds of years by millions of feet.
