Liz Herald releases debut EP 'Out of the Dark'

The singer and songwriter of rock music known as Liz Herald has released her debut EP, “Out of the Dark.” The album contains six Liz Herald originals for an approximate total listening time of 20 minutes. It has been proudly published as an independent release without the involvement of the corporate music industry. Strong, affirming, creative and aggressive, Liz Herald’s “Out of the Dark” EP stands as evidence that this artist from North Michigan has plenty up her sleeve for 2018.

Self-described contemporary-pop-folk artist Liz Herald cites as main artistic influences Pat Benatar, P!nk and One Republic. Of these, Herald may have most in common with P!nk in terms of pop-rock sensibilities and thematic songwriting. However, fans of folk music, folk rock, and even contemporary country music are also likely to find something they appreciate in “Out of the Dark” by Liz Herald.

Asked to describe the message of her new album, Liz Herald writes, “This album is about beginnings and life experiences. Each song is specific and relates to my world in an unforgettable moment. It is the beginning of my solo professional career and a connection with others that have felt or are feeling that way.”

Liz Herald has been around. After growing up in what her current official bio describes as “a struggling area of northern Michigan,” Herald joined the US Navy and commenced her tour around the world. As an enlisted woman, she kept her performance chops sharp by singing the National Anthem at a wide variety of military ceremonies. She also took home a Top-5 ribbon for her performance at the International Modeling and Talent Association New York Conference.

2015 saw Herald leaving the USN for the stage. Today she writes and performs music under the Kent Wells Productions umbrella based in the music hotbed of Nashville, Tenn.
