1. Most Condoms Aren’t Vegan-Friendly

This might be an issue for the over 1.5 million vegans in America. Condoms are made of latex and protect you from STDs and unwanted pregnancies.

However, during the manufacturing process, a protein derived from milk is used. This technically makes condoms an animal product, which is a red flag for vegans. There are other types of condoms, but lambskin ones are definitely off the table for vegans as well.

Certain brands of condoms are vegan-friendly. So for you vegans out there: check the ingredients on everything, including your condoms.

2. Bacteria Galore

While most people might think that the nether regions are the area you would find bacteria, it’s actually a much more surprising place on the body: your mouth.

Human mouths contain over 800 different kinds of bacteria. Swapping spit has a whole new meaning when you imagine all of the different kinds of bacteria you and your partner are exchanging. One study showed that a single kiss exchanged over 80 million bacteria.

This might be a fact you wish you could forget the next time someone’s mouth is on your you-know-what.

In order to get around these laws, an erotic artist named Toshio Maeda created “tentacle porn.” Depicting women having sex with tentacles wasn’t technically breaking the law because tentacles are not actual penises. They are, however, quite phallic and simulate the look of intercourse.

5. Sperm Travels Fast

The speed of sperm at the time of ejaculation is 28 miles per hour. That is the same speed as a car driving down a residential street, a cyclist going down a hill, and tied with the world’s top Olympic sprinter.

6. You Can Be “Sexed” to Death

The amount of deaths that occur during sex is surprisingly high. Strokes and heart attacks occurring during sex are not uncommon, especially for people who probably aren’t healthy enough to be having sex in the first place.

12. The Purpose of Pubes

Pubic hair does serve a purpose, so pay attention if you tend to manscape or fully shave your downstairs.

Pubic hair helps to prevent the spread of STDs. Those who have little to no pubic hair are more likely to contract an STD.

Pubic hair also provides a cushion during sex. Those without pubic hair are more likely to be bruised or have microabrasions near the genitals. Ouch.

13. Sex Toys Are Illegal?

Well, they’re illegal in Alabama and Georgia. These states prohibit the sale of any objects that are solely used for pleasuring your genitals unless they are medically necessary.

Other states have limits to the number of sex toys you can have. In Texas, you’re banned from owning any more than 6 dildos.
