1. Australian Snake Head

On December 12, 1964 photographer Robert Le Serrec was in a small row boat just off the coast on Stonehaven Bay, Hook Island, Queensland, Australia.  He was with family and friends when they noticed a giant snake-like creature lying on the ocean floor in less than 6 ft of water. They said it was grayish  and tadpole-like, with a snake-like head, and was about 75-80 feet long. There appeared to be a large wound on the creature’s back. They took pictures before it became annoyed and swam away.

The huge, tadpole-like creature was reported to have a “large wound was visible on the right side of the tail, and it was suggested that’s what caused the animal to take refuge in the bay. The eyes, located on top of the head, were pale and had slit-shaped pupils. Mostly black in color, it had brown transverse stripes and its skin was smooth. It had no fins nor spines of any kind and they didn’t see teeth inside the white mouth.” “Passing Strange-1910-2013″

2.  Raystown Ray

For decades there have been many sightings of a creature in Pennsylvania Huntingdon County’s Raystown Lake. Old photos show large shadowy figures just below the surface, boaters describing sudden water turbulence and strange appearances of a large water creature, Raystown Ray.

The first known photograph of Raystown Ray. Photographed by a local fisherman looking over the lake from the Huntingdon Co.

“We’ve known it’s been in there a while now,” admitted Managing Director of Raystown Lake Dwight Beall when he was asked his thoughts on this astonishing discovery. “It’s a private creature, but it comes out around this time of year (April). Call it Raystown’s own Punxatawny Phil.”

In 2006, when asked his professional opinion, Jeff Krause, Wildlife Biologist at Raystown Lake submitted the following statement in writing: “I believe it must be a vegetarian. We have not seen any evidence of this animal taking fish, geese, otters, or ducks. So I would suggest that our swimmers and boaters are very safe. It appears this animal’s habits are similar to Manatees, which are completely herbivorous and gentle. The increase of weed beds around the lake is probably providing more food in the shallows for herbivores and that would increase sightings.” Krause concluded

4. Thames Sea Serpent

On August 7th 1999, London police received more than 36 reports of a gigantic sea serpent in the Thames. It was “at least 200 ft long and 5 yards across,” said one panicky witness. Despite all the sightings, no one managed to get a picture—or so it was thought. That day photographer John Collins was taking aerial photos of London from a private plane. He didn’t notice the object at the lower right until he examined the photo later.

6. Montauk Monster

The Montauk Monster was a creature that washed ashore on one of the beaches in Montauk, New York. The creature was discovered in July of 2008, and no one has been able to identify what this creature was. The East Hampton Natural Resources director viewed the creature simply as a raccoon with its upper jaw missing. This was first released to the public in an article on July 23rd in the local newspaper The Independent.

7. Japanese Sea Giant

In the spring of 1977, off the coast of New Zealand, a Japanese fishing trawler accidentally netted a decaying carcass of a gigantic creature 30 feet long, with spines down its neck and back weighing 4,000 pounds. As it was hauled up on to the boat, the fishermen photographed the creature which resembled a type of an aquatic dinosaur known as a pleisosaur, a dinosaur species that supposedly went extinct 65 million years ago.

8. Windemere Worm

In England,  kayaker Tom Pickles took this photo on Lake Windemere, near Bowness in Cumbria. “At a distance, I thought it was some sort of large dog,” said  Pickles. “Then I realized just how long it was.” Ever since the first reports of Bow-Nessie emerged in 2006 from Lake Windermere, a legend has taken root with people wondering if this could be a not-too-distant relative of the legendary Loch Ness Monster of Scotland.

9. Iceland Worm Monster

The Lagarfljótsormur, Lagarfljotsormurinn, Lagarfljót worm or simply Iceland Worm Monster ( or Iceland’s Loch Ness Monster ) is an Icelandic lake cryptid. The worm is purportedly located in Lagarfljót Lake, a freshwater, below-sea-level, glacial-fed body of water in Egilsstaðir.

The water visibility is incredibly poor as a result of siltation, and the creature–if it does exist–has not been scientifically studied. Sightings have been consistently logged since 1345. There are many stories about kynjaskepnur, that is, strange animals or unknown phenomena, in Lagarfljót.

The worm-like creature is presumed to be longer than a football field, or 300 feet (91 m), and has been seen coiled near the shore by countless eyewitnesses. According to reports, it has been spotted in both water and dry land. It is believed that it can slither onto land.

This video is from IRíkisútvarpið RÚV - The Icelandic National Broadcasting Service.  According to RÚV,    the video was taken by a farmer called Hjörtur Kjerúlf  who captured the giant, icy snake swimming in the Jökulsá í Fljótsdal river, which empties into Lake Lagarfljót.

10.  China Lake Monster

Kanas Lake is China’s deepest freshwater lake with a depth of over 600 feet and 15 miles long. It is located in the Kanas Nature Reserve in the Aletai mountain area of northern Xinjiang and has been the source of numerous lake monster sightings, particularly since the 1980s when tourism brought many visitors to the lake.  According to CCTV, about 15 of the unknown creatures were seen in Kanas Lake in China’s XinJiang Provnce on July 5th 2007.

Lake Tianchi in northeast China’s Jilin Province has had reports going back to 1903, with an impressive sighting involving over 100 tourists, who saw two black-colored, unidentified creatures in China’s deepest mountain lake on August 19, 2007.

Qinghai Lake is north of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and is China’s largest landlocked lake. The Qinghai Lake monster has been seen by dozens of witnesses, including a lama who reported a dragon like monster in 1947 and a 1949 sighting of a giant creature with a snake like head and glistening scales.

11. Rine Expedition

The Rines expedition in 1972 captured what looks like a plesiosaur on film.  During a visit to Scotland in 1972, Rines reported seeing “a large, darkish hump, covered … with rough, mottled skin, like the back of an elephant” in Loch Ness. Over the next 35 years he mounted numerous expeditions to the loch and searched its depths with sophisticated electronic and photographic equipment, mostly of his own design. While his investigations produced multiple theories and several tantalizing photographs, he was unable to produce sufficient evidence to convince the scientific community of the existence of the fabled monster. For this he received the Dinsdale Memorial Award in 2004

This initial flipper picture was computer enhanced by the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratories in Pasadena, and apparently the computer-enhanced image was further artistically enhanced by the Academy of Applied Science team (i.e. it was retouched), thereby producing the final flipper photo. Modern image-enhancement software has not been able to conjure anything resembling a flipper from the original image, according to the Museum of Hoaxes.

The first sighting of the Loch Ness Monster was in the River Ness in 565 AD the Irish monk Saint Columba was staying in the land of the Picts with his companions when he came across the locals burying a man by the River Ness. They explained that the man had been swimming the river when he was attacked by a “water beast” that had mauled him and dragged him under. They tried to rescue him in a boat, but were able only to drag up his corpse.

12. New Zealand Monster

In May 2014, a New Zealand storm blew in something truly unexpected. According to SunLive, residents of the Pukehina beach area of the country found a scary-looking “sea monster” on their shore after a recent storm.A series of violent storms last week blew the creature’s carcass onto the beach. Onlookers first believed the grisly 9-meter find was the remains of a prehistoric sea creature. Now, after a more thorough examination, experts believe it was the decomposed body of an Orca whale.

One can make out a set of large teeth on the specimen, as well as a pair of flippers. While these features point to an Orca, some still believe the animal could be a prehistoric creature.

News of the discovery spread when a video was posted on YouTube, asking viewers to help identify it. Marine mammal expert Anton van Helden was one of the first to suggest the animal could be an Orca, based on how the fins looked.

13. Unknown Snake Head Creature

Little is known about the origins of this image or what this unidentified sea monster could be.  Many believe this monster to be digital artwork.

After searching the web, we believe that it has similarities to that of an oarfish, an ocean species that is often mistaken for sea monsters when they are found dead every year.

An photo of an unknown sea monster floating around the internet has been making headlines. This is a strange beast and doesn’t look like anything from Earth. So what is it exactly? A well made photo shop or some strange new species of sea animal that was just discovered. Look at those teeth, whatever this is, this creature is surely a vicious predator at the top of its food chain.

14. Prehistoric Shark

This rare shark was seen in 2008 and is believed to be a living fossil, unfortunately they tried to take it out of the ocean into a confined space, but it died soon after.

16. Nebraska Lake Monster

Buzz Wertner was accused of fraud by The Syracuse Star when he sent in the picture he had taken at his farm near Syracuse, Nebraska in 1997.  Wertner offered the paper 500 dollars if they would ‘just come look.’ They sent a reporter and when he returned, apparently convinced, the Star suggested, in print, that he was in cahoots with Wertner, who sued. He won, after 9 witnesses, including 2 Syracuse policemen, swore they also saw it.

        A raccoon with a beak?

      • Eggzactly

You apparently have Never seen a Raccoon before. The thing in the picture isnt one.

    • Maravillosa

Just so people know, you can do a google image search, or a TinEye reverse image search, and see how the person that wrote this article blatantly lied about half of these saying things like “no one has identified” and so on.

Every picture here has been proven/admitted fake, or is a rotting corpse of regular animal.

      EVERY SINGLE ONE.

As an active member of the cryptozoology community, I felt it my duty to let you all know most of th. Do your own research, and prepare to be unimpressed.

According to Vyatcheslav Krasheninnikov: Humans were created about 7500 years ago. Birds participate in time creation. It’s a sin to kill birds. Dinosaurs live under our level. They will get out through sinkholes and lakes. To kill them, go for their nerves. Demons grow human skin and put it on so as to look like us. Demons will invite people to be healed inside their UFOs; those who go will be like zombies after. Gov’t provides demons with diamonds and allows demons to abduct people. If you’re being abducted, scream: “JESUS!!!” Demons use diamonds and souls to power their UFO craft. The bigger the diamond, the more it lasts. Demons have 4 UFO bases: 1)Moon 2)Inside fake mountain Kailash in Tibet 3)In lake Baikal in Russia 4)In Atlantis which is underneath the Mariana Trench in Pacific Ocean. There are no aliens. Nobody lives on other planets. Airplanes that go down are hit by demons because they need the airspace to fight Jesus. Antichrist is pale with red eyes. Don’t go into a UFO to be healed by demons. 666 is given by isotope rays on wrist or forehead when people stretch hands to receive small plastic grey card (world passport). Police will chip and isotope ray people on highways. Food stores will isotope ray people too. Antichrist will also release prisoners to mark people. Reject 666 at all cost. If you’re about to be marked, scream: “Lord, have mercy!” three times. Go hide with Orthodox Christians to escape 666. God gives you a name during baptism. Devil gives you an anti-name during anti-baptism. Barcode is Druid black magic curse and a form of mark of the beast just like Social Security. People who took any number (which is an anti-name given during anti-baptism by the beast) on documents or in computer go to temporary hell; but those who receive green 666 (given with world passport with no name on it) on forehead or wrist go to permanent hell. How not to go to hell? Give back all these anti-name anti-baptism documents back to the beast by writing to appropriate authorities. If authorities refuse to cancel these anti-names, then write again (up to three times). If you wrote to the gov’t three times about it, but gov’t refused, then God will not send you to hell. Don’t take the microchip. If you already took it, get rid of it because microchipped people will be influenced by computers to take the world passport (grey plastic card with no name on it). Don’t go into a UFO to be healed by demons. Those who reject 666 will go to heaven. Also, their direct ancestors will be saved from hell.

Nr. 7. I remember seen on TV the report of the catching. The captain wanted to keep it till they went ashore, but 2 days after the smell was unbearable and they had to throw it back to the sea.
They had left the little film of getting it tangled in the nets and hanging it on the boat.
      Blessings!
