STARS BORN MORTAL  

Death of a Star

Stars expand as they grow old. As their core runs out of hydrogen and then helium, the core contacts and the outer layers expand, cool, and become less bright. This is a red giant or a red super giant (depending on the initial mass of the star). It will eventually collapse and explode. A star’s life span and eventual fate are determined by the original mass of the star.

THE STARDUST TEACHINGS UNDERSTOOD

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.  . . – Jeremiah 1:5.

“90% of your body mass is, in fact, stardust, because all the elements except for hydrogen and helium are created in Stars.”

“Stars are big exploding balls of gas, mostly hydrogen and helium.“ 

“You are the universe, expressing itself as a (mortal) human for a while. Those who come from the Universe are immortal.“

“Every Atom in your body came from a star that exploded. And, the Atoms in your left hand probably came from a different star than the Atoms in your right hand. It really is the most poetic thing I know about the universe: You are all stardust (well, 90% of you). You Humanity could not be here (on Earth) if stars had not exploded, because the elements (1.Carbon, 2.Nitrogen, 3.Oxygen, 4.Hydrogen,

 5.Helium, 6.Calcium, 7.Phosphorus, 8.Potassium, 9.Sulfur, 10.Sodium, 11.Chlorine, and 12.Magnesium) were created in stars. 

8-9. Potassium and Sulfur ORIGINS 

Most of the universe’s potassium atoms were made in the final moments of giant stars as they exploded in supernovae. Potassium is made in the oxygen burning shell of stars when they explode. This is not normal burning, of course; it is nuclear fusion. Potassium is made, along with several other elements including sulfur, and silicon, during explosive oxygen burning in supernovae.

We are all made of stardust. It sounds like a line from a poem, but there is some solid science behind this statement too: almost every element on Earth was formed at the heart of a star.   

Next time you’re out gazing at stars twinkling in the night sky, spare a thought for the tumultuous reactions they play host to. It’s easy to forget that stars owe their light to the energy released by nuclear fusion reactions at their cores. These are the very same reactions which created chemical elements like carbon or iron – the building blocks which make up the world around us.

After the Cosmic Inflation, tiny particles bound together to form hydrogen and helium. As time went on, young stars formed when clouds of gas and dust gathered under the effect of gravity, heating up as they became denser. At the stars’ cores, bathed in temperatures of over 10 million degrees C, hydrogen and then helium nuclei fused to form heavier elements.  A reaction known as nucleosynthesis.

Planet Earth was created with the Cosmic Dust of Stars. 

Humans, however were created by the ore of the planet Earth.  

 Genesis 2:7 teaches, “The Lord God formed a man from the ore/dust of the planet earth AND breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” With the rest of creation, God had simply spoken things into existence (e.g., Genesis 1:3, 14, 20, 24), but God does things differently with man a human soul.
