Currently, in California, non-doctors can perform abortions (midwives, physician’s assistants, and nurse practitioners; since October of 2013). California has always seemed to be in front of other states when it comes to killing babies, crying the blues for convicted murders who might feel some pain with lethal injection, and opening the doors wide open to illegal aliens who literally waltz into the state unchecked. It goes without saying that California never relies on common sense or logic to establish many of its laws or policies and the fact that the state has roughly a year to go before running out of ground water (according to at least one NASA expert) tells us what we need to know about California.

It’s a shame really because I spent many years there growing up and even into my adult years. I watched the state go from “golden” to “rust-encrusted” in the space of 30 years or so and it appears as though there is no going back. This is especially true because Democrats have ruled the roost in California for decades. Their “handiwork” is clearly evident.

But let’s talk about the various abortion procedures that are currently being used throughout America. Some are limited to either the first, second, or third trimesters and as we noted regarding New York’s AB6221, some lawmakers want to eliminate all potential limits so that women would have the “right” to kill the unborn human being she carries right up to the time of birth. In fact, some politicians argue that partial-birth abortion should also become the law of the land. This is where a child – through an attempted late-terms abortion – actually survives the procedure and is either left to die or, as in the cases made famous by Kermit Gosnell, has its neck sliced through with surgical scissors to execute the child.

All of this is okay though because it is a woman’s right to choose to murder her unborn human baby as she sees fit. In most cases, the father has no say (as if a woman can impregnate herself without having to bother about things like “sperm”), because the human baby has not been born yet and until the child is actually born, it is rarely seen as a human being. That is, unless the expectant mother is murdered and the child she carries dies with her. In that case, since she apparently wanted to bring the human being she was carrying into the world, then it is actually seen as a human being. There are many abortion groups who disagree with this though.

While thinking of and even actually studying the ways in which human beings are murdered while in the womb, we understand that it is not pretty. In fact, it’s more than ugly. It is reprehensible. In my view, it is no different from torturing, beating, or starving to death a child that has already been born into this world and has a unique identity. We all shudder when we hear of those cases. We become righteously indignant (and rightly so). However, the truth of the matter is whether a woman allows the killing of her child before it is born (by some licensed practitioner) or murders the child herself via torture, starvation, or something else, in both cases, a murder has been committed. I don’t care what man-made laws say. Abortion is an act of murder and that is never a woman’s right. The only way it is allowed in society is by making us believe that the unborn baby is not a human being until it is born and even then, if it is not wanted (the mother was attempting to have an abortion), it is still not human unless the mother says it is human. What absolute garbage! Such a disgusting misuse of the law in order to murder.

Let’s take a look at the various ways utilized to kill unborn children. They are separated into which methods normally used during specific trimesters. Information provided here is from NY Right to Life’s website.

FIRST TRIMESTER

• Suction/Aspiration: “The powerful vacuum dismembers the tiny baby and placenta, tearing them to pieces and sucking them into a collection bottle. Although the baby is extremely small, body parts are often easily identified, and the abortionist will typically do so to ensure all contents of the uterus have been removed.”
• RU 486: This procedure involves the use of two synthetic hormones. “Used between the fifth and ninth weeks of pregnancy, this procedure requires at least two visits to the clinic or hospital. On the first visit women are given a physical exam to rule out contraindications – smoking, obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, anemia, allergies, epilepsy, asthma or age restrictions (under 18 or over 35) – which could make the drugs deadly. The RU 486 drug (mifepristone) is taken to inhibit the production of progesterone, the hormone which prepares the nutrient-rich lining of the uterus. As a result the tiny developing baby literally starves to death as the womb’s lining sloughs off. At the second visit women are given misoprostol to induce contractions and cause the dead baby to be expelled from the uterus.”

SECOND/THIRD TRIMESTERS

• Dilation and Evacuation (D & E): This is the procedure where poison is injected directly into the heart of beating child through the mother’s abdomen. It is done when, even following the introduction of salt solution into the amniotic sac (which the baby then breathes and its skin is burned), when this method fails to kill the baby. “Using ultrasound, the abortionist directs a needle containing an injection of lethal potassium chloride into the unborn baby’s heart. Other abortionists use an injection of digoxin to cause fetal cardiac arrest. Sometimes salt is injected to kill the baby before birth and make the procedure less stressful for the mother.” (emphasis added)
• Dilation and Extraction (D & X or Partial-birth): This method was introduced “in 1992, this method is used to kill babies from 20 weeks through full term. Because the baby is considerably larger and more well developed at this time, the opening of the woman’s cervix must be greatly enlarged in order to perform this abortion. The entire process requires three days.”In this procedure, theabortionist punctures and drains the amniotic sac. Then turns the baby so that it isbreech (feet first) and pulls the baby out of the womb by one of its legs until the head reaches the opening. Since the head is usually larger than the opening, theabortionist uses surgical scissors to stab the child near the base of the skull, then enlarge that hole. Once completed, the brain is thensuctioned out of the head allowing the head to collapse and is then pulled out of the mother’s body.”It is worth noting that most babies at this stage of development weigh at least a pound, measure approximately 8 inches in length and are fully formed, with feet roughly 1 inch to 11/2 inches in length. Babies born at this point in pregnancy (19 or 20 weeks) have survived.”
• Hysterectomy/Cesarean: This procedure is normally used during the last trimester. “The womb is entered by surgery through the wall of the abdomen. This abortion procedure parallels a Caesarean section live delivery except that the baby is killed in the uterus or allowed to die from neglect if he or she is not dead upon removal.”This method is also the one where “partial-birth” abortions are performed IF the baby survives this procedure. When the child is born alive, the abortionist will stab the base of the neck, or as in the case of Kermit Gosnell, will slice through the spinal column at the base of the neck with a pair of sharp surgical scissors.

Until I had done the research for this article, I was personally not aware that the Dilation and Evacuation (D & E) was the one that utilized the poison injected directly into the heart. This procedure has been performed on many mothers for some time.

Ultimately, when considering the numerous forms used today to kill unborn human beings, it is clear that there is no “simple” or “painless” way of aborting children. Yet, in our society, we grieve more for convicted murderers who may experience some measure of pain while being put to death than we do for innocent unborn human beings who – through no choice of their own – were either conceived or murdered. They did nothing wrong to deserve their fate, yet unborn human beings are murdered while still in the womb every day in this country.

States like New York are doing everything they can to shore up any potential problems should Roe v. Wade ever be eventually overturned. I don’t see that happening because, as the Bible clearly states, Satan is the god of this world (cf. John 14:30; 2 Corinthians 4:4) and the prince of the power of the air (cf. Ephesians 2:2). He is allowed to control what is currently his kingdom. One day, it will be supernaturally wrested from him, but for now, this world marches to his beat. Is it any wonder that this world is marching toward the Tribulation period, which is God’s judgment on a world that refuses to acknowledge Him?
