Rolling Toward Reparations for Slavery

In case you aren’t aware, things in America since the Civil Rights movement have been tilting in favor of what many call the “privileged minority.” A privileged minority is a class or group of people who are unofficially (though sometimes officially) labeled as being “privileged” because of hardships they or their ancestors have gone through. This “privileged” status simply means that they are to be given more opportunities that the non-privileged groups. The thought is that somehow, in some way, certain groups of people had to unfairly deal with things that held them down or kept them back. Because of that, efforts should be made to push them ahead even if that means holding other people back.

It’s as Andrew Breitbart stated, that the “have” and “have-nots” really doesn’t play well in this country, so the terms “oppressor” and “oppressed” were used instead. The funny thing is, is that the Elite are the oppressors against everyone but the illusion is created that whites are the oppressors against blacks. It’s working too. Because of it, minorities are often given preferential treatment because of perceived oppression by whites. This Cultural Marxism is what’s going to take down America because it’s what higher learning institutions have been brainwashing students with for decades and it has come home to roost.

In 1974, “Allan Bakke files suit against the regents charging that reverse discrimination barred him from UC Davis’ School of Medicine. The case goes to the U.S. Supreme Court, which rules that Bakke must be admitted.” You can read more about this case at this link regarding the Bakke Decision. Essentially, he sued because UC Davis was in the habit of holding “open” numerous seats in their medical school for minority students. Even though at this time, the Supreme Court had ruled that Affirmative Action was somehow Constitutional, they “invalidated the use of racial quotas.” I’m not quite sure how Affirmative Action itself can be ruled Constitutional but one of their biggest tools to achieve their stated goals was invalidated.

Allan Bakke, a white California man who had twice unsuccessfully applied for admission to the medical school, filed suit against the university. Citing evidence that his grades and test scores surpassed those of many minority students who had been accepted for admission.

Even though the school was forced to accept Allan Bakke, do you really think things have changed? I’m sure a great deal has continued under the radar, but that may be changing.

A friend of mine highlighted an article for me to read (Thanks Janna!) about a new position that Georgetown University is adopting. They have actually come out and stated that they are moving “to atone for the past, including awarding preferential status in the admissions process to descendants of the enslaved, officials said on Wednesday.” But wait, there’s more!

Georgetown’s president, John J. DeGioia [has said he will offer] a formal apology, create an institute for the study of slavery and erect a public memorial to the slaves whose labor benefited the institution, including those who were sold in 1838 to help keep the university afloat.

We all know slavery was bad. In fact, it was terrible. However, history proves that there were plenty of slaves and groups of people who were terribly treated in this country, from the Irish to the Chinese to those brought from Africa as sold by other tribes in Africa.

My point really is simple. Georgetown University will get away with this – “awarding preferential status in the admissions process” – because it is politically correct to do so. Much of the black community are building a case that blacks and especially black males are being mistreated and even hunted down by law enforcement officials. Black Lives Matter (BLM) is a hate group that hates cops and white people. But they believe their public demeanor is excused because of that happened to some of their ancestors here in America. It would be interesting to learn how many of the BLM people actually had ancestors who were slaves in America. Aside from that, none of the people living today were slaves in America and no one living today ever owned a slave.

In reality, shouldn’t the white male who is currently the president of Georgetown University be willing to step down and hand the reigns over to a black person, preferably a black male since the media keeps insisting that black males are the main target of police officers and whites today? If John J. DeGioia really means what he says, then it follows that he should give himself walking papers. He won’t do that though because his political correctness won’t take him that far, where it hits his own personal wallet.

Do you notice that it is politically incorrect to say “All lives matter” or especially “white lives (or cops’ lives) matter”? I’ve heard a number of public names actually apologize for saying that all lives matter. The idea is to cause society to believe that what is still being done to blacks and especially black males is so heinous and born of racism that the focus needs to be on them for now until racism is obliterated.

We also have many blacks who parrot what was taught by Dr. Derek Bell, who essentially stated that it is impossible for blacks to be racist. His form of Black Liberation Theology/Ideology places all blame squarely on the shoulders of all whites, whether those whites realize they are racist or not.

The case is being built not in the courtroom, but in the arena of public opinion that something big must be done to help blacks recover from the horrors that some of their ancestors lived through (and heinous it was). That something is going to come in the form of financial reparations or pay-outs to blacks on the taxpayer’s dime. I’m actually surprised it hasn’t happened already, but I don’t believe it’s too far off in the future before the Federal government gets around to handing out thousands of dollars to each black person or family as settlement for what is considered the collective sins of the white race. Never mind that some slaveholders were black or that not all white people owned slaves, but merely a small percentage of white Democrats in the south who owned them. It’s also interesting to note that the Democrat Party also gave birth to the KKK. Ironic how many blacks don’t seem to notice or care about that though because most vote Democrat, the very party that tried to keep them enslaved and used fear of death via the KKK to keep them from rising up. Notice the KKK is now considered a hate group and rightly so, but today’s BLM is not considered a hate group in spite of what they advocate against white people and the lies they perpetrate.

I imagine once the next president is installed into office, things will move toward officially paying out reparations to blacks. Since President Obama has taken office, we’ve seen a tremendous uptick in racial division throughout America. Eric Holder was a tremendous help to Obama in that regard because of all the underhanded things he is alleged to have done, favoring blacks and other minorities.

But here’s what authentic Christians can keep in mind as we notice things in this world are becoming increasingly more out of whack. The Bible promises that a day is coming when Antichrist will take charge of things. It will seem as though he does this for the world’s betterment, but unfortunately, he will be pulling the wool over everyone’s eyes (including the Elite), biding his time until he can grab supreme power from those who hold it now (with God’s permission). Once he does that, the real evil will thoroughly break out over the land. Some will even begin to realize they’ve been had (read carefully Daniel 9:24-27).

This world has a ways to go before Antichrist steps on the scene and does his job of swindling the masses, turning them to his way of thinking. He’ll impress society with signs and wonders that will knock people’s socks off and make everyone believe that he is the guy for which the world has been waiting. Until that time, there needs to be increasing turmoil throughout global society and just a cursory look at the world tells us that this is the case.

But a day of reckoning is coming for evil led by Satan, that Christians will not be part of because God will literally “catch us away” to our heavenly home. The Bible actually has a great deal to say on the subject of the Rapture and it is important for Christians to understand it. Why? For no other reason than it is in the Bible. It is equally important to understand God’s intended meaning, not the meaning we personally like.

I’ve included a chart highlighting passages comparing differences between 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and Matthew 24:27-31 (Olivet Discourse). Another chart contrasts 15 events between the Rapture and Christ’s Second Coming. Finally, there is a chart that denotes passages referencing the Rapture and those for the Second Coming. It is exceedingly important for Christians to understand these differences but many simply won’t bother because of the work involved in looking up all those passages and seeing the difference.

The Bible promises us that at some point prior to the start of the coming Tribulation/Great Tribulation, Jesus will step out of the 3rd heaven and call His children up to Him. The dead will rise first then those alive will quickly follow.

When will the Rapture occur? The Bible doesn’t tell us except to inform us that it occurs before the Tribulation starts.

As opposed to becoming lazy because “Hey, I’m going up at the trumpet blast, so no worries!“, might I suggest several things? First, you are called to participate in the Great Commission of Matthew 28. Don’t become lazy. Keep working in God’s power to tell the lost they are lost and there is only one solution. Second, you have no idea when you will breathe your last if death occurs before the Rapture. Live every day as though it is your last. Third, you have absolutely no idea how bad things will get in society before the Rapture occurs. I seriously doubt it’s going to be a walk in the clouds. There are real problems on the earth. There is tremendous evil and it is growing. Think of what the 1st century Christians went through when God allowed persecution with Nero and several other Roman rulers to overtake Christians. These people did not have it easy.

There is one huge difference between the persecution that God allowed in the past and the coming Tribulation/Great Tribulation of the future. The coming Tribulation is all about God pouring out His wrath on humanity for their continued rejection of Him and their constant rebellion and proliferation of evil. Just as it was in the days of Noah and just as it was in the days of Lot, God poured out His wrath then on a rebellious and disobedient society that refused to bow the knee to Almighty God. Those events foreshadowed the final pouring out of God’s wrath throughout the globe in what I believe is the near future and is called the Tribulation/Great Tribulation.

God’s people have always been persecuted. In fact, there are many parts of the world right now where it is a death sentence to be a Christian. Many Christians are persecuted and die daily because of that persecution. However, once again, that is not God’s wrath. That is Satan’s wrath that God allows in controlled measure to pour out onto the vessels that belong to God. It is Satan’s hatred of God that is poured out on the object of God’s love.

A day is coming though when God will say “ENOUGH!” and He will call His children home. Just like He did by getting Noah and his family completely out of the way and as He did with Lot, getting him and only two daughters completely out of harm’s way, then and only then will God send His destruction onto humanity. Yet we are assured in Revelation that “multitudes” will convert to Christianity and wind up losing their lives in martyrdom (cf. Revelation 7:9-10).

Christians need to wake up and understand that the time is short, that the Rapture could happen at any moment, and following that, the worst time in human history when God pours out His wrath.

There are many things in society that are wrong, born of evil, and used for the purpose of creating a tremendous divide in society. This needs to happen because the Antichrist needs to come on the scene and be seen as the great “healer,” the great “uniter.” Initially, he will appear to be that by creating a semblance of peace in the Middle East (cf. Daniel 9:27). That peace will be very short-lived, but it will be enough to make people think he is a god. That time is coming.

What is your job, Christian? I’ve said it before and I’ll continue to repeat it because it needs to be repeated. It is to warn the lost. It is to live for God. It is to not be concerned about all the inequities that are happening in society right now, to not get caught up in the emotion of it all, but to steer straight, according to the course set before you by His Word. Sure, do your civic duty and vote. That’s fine, but understand that you have an infinitely higher calling than that because it involves the salvation of the lost.

If we Christians fail to introduce the lost to the Living God, who will do it?
