I believe in due course it will turn out the FBI/Comey played a very wise game with Clinton and the people. The FBI had to acknowledge there were problems with H Clinton and the Clinton Foundation. Comey cleared Clinton for the personal server usage. Furthermore no comment. Outrage by the people and alternative press.
Now the reason why he played that very clever. The fact that no FBI-agents jumped ship after that second announcement means there is a plan B. And that plan is simple. Had FBI indicted Clinton the chances of a general pardon from Obama was very likely for both Clintons and Podesta.
