Man falls down deep pit in mine. Mine entrance actually survives council vendetta.

 Its amazing to hear about someone falling down a mineshaft, I always thought mines were a myth. Over the past 4 decades, shafts have been capped or plugged and erased out of existance, along with the rest of local history. Mining wasn’t a safe job, people were always dying, but that seems no reason to forget them and stick a house on top, the occupants maybe never knowing someones body could be underneath them. Few years back now, all shafts and tunnels on public beaches were sealed because a kid died in one, There was a fuss about fencing off our cliffs too, but when a rockfall happens or a dangerous cliff is cordoned off, people climb over the barriers anyway. Amazingly though, at least one tunnel entrance into a mine is still open, I imagine it won’t be long before this accident prone tunnel too is carefully camouflaged into the landscape, along with a notice saying “noone has ever died here”. Heres the story on how a guy walks into a tunnel and amazingly falls down a deep pit. Holidaymaker of course.
