Nibiru Doom? Planet X Would Strip Earth of its Moon Warns NASA Scientist

Dr David Morrison, an astronomer at NASA Ames Research Center, said if the system made it into the inner solar system, it would disrupt the position of the all planets, and “eject the moon from Earth’s orbit.”The internet has been alive with conspiracy theories claiming the Nibiru or Planet X system is heading towards Earth, and will trigger a global apocalypse from Sunday, November 19.

So-called Nibiru truthers claim NASA is at the heart of a global elite conspiracy to hide the truth from the general population while they seek refuge in secret underground bunkers.

The Nibiru myth emerged in 1976, when writer Zecharia Sitchin claimed two ancient Middle Eastern cultures, the Babylonians and Sumerians, told of a giant planet dubbed Nibiru which orbited the Sun.

In January 2002, a dull star in an obscure constellation suddenly became 600,000 times more luminous than our Sun and the Nibiru or Planet X theory claims a mini solar system consisting of a sun, planets and moons is lurking in space on the edge of our system with a huge 3,600 miles orbit of the sun.

They say the planet will cause the poles to switch, sparking great earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

But NASA has repeatedly said Nibiru does not exist.

Dr. David Morrison, Astronomer and space scientist at the NASA Ames Research Center, was speaking during a podcast released by the Search for Extraterrestrial Life Institute (SETI) website.

It was part of the Big Picture Science Radio Show, which broadcast an episode called “Skeptic Check: Nibiru! (Again!)”. Other guests included Robert E. Bartholomew, Medical sociologist at Botany College, Auckland, New Zealand, and Michael Brown, an Astronomer at the California Institute of Technology.

Mr. Morrison was asked to say what would happen in the solar system if Nibiru entered it.

One of the earlier astronomers who spoke out about Nibiru was Dr. Robert S. Harrington, the chief astronomer of the U.S. Naval Observatory, and died before he could publicize that Planet X is approaching our Solar System.

Dr. Harrington became a believer in the existence of a Planet X beyond Pluto and undertook searches for it, with positive results coming from the IRAS probe in 1983. Harrington collaborated initially with T. C. (Tom) Van Flandern.

A key underpinning of the Sitchin paradigm is the existence, now or in the past, of the tenth planet in our solar system, the home planet of the Anunnaki with the size, orbit, characteristics described, as Sitchin has demonstrated, in the Enuma Elish and corroborated by Harrington.

Tombaugh discovered Pluto in 1930. Christie, of the U.S. Naval Observatory, discovered Charon, Pluto’s moon, in 1978. The characteristics of Pluto derivable from the nature of Charon demonstrated that there must still be a large planet undiscovered because Pluto could not be the cause of the residuals, the “wobbles” in the orbital paths of Uranus and Neptune clearly identifiable. The IRAS (Infrared Astronomical Satellite), during ’83 -’84, produced observations of a tenth planet so robust that one of the astronomers on the project said that “all that remains is to name it” – from which point the information has become curiously guarded.

In 1992 Harrington and Van Flandern of the Naval Observatory, working with all the information they had at hand, published their findings and opinion that there is, indeed, a tenth planet, even calling it an “intruder” planet. Andersen of JPL later publicly expressed his belief that it could possibly be verified any time. The search was narrowed to the southern skies, below the ecliptic. Harrington invited Sitchin, having read his book and translations of the Enuma Elish, to a meeting at his office and they correlated the current findings with the ancient records and Harrington acknowledged the detail of the ancient records while indicating where the tenth planet may now be in the solar system.
