It’s hard to find a good real estate agent, if you do not know what skills to look for. We made out a list of 5 skills every real estate agent should have and which, somehow, are connected to the customer service department. So, if you are out on the look for some local realty services, here are the main skills your agent should have:
Imagine what it would be like to buy a house and having to deal with an agent you cannot communicate with. The real estate market is very volatile and sensitive, which is why you are going to have to work with a real estate agent who will let you know right from the start where you are standing with your buying/selling process.
Agents need to stay in permanent contact with their clients. Any amount of information that can seem useless to an agent who has been in the business for years can be really precious for one of his clients. This is why the line of communication needs to stay open all the time.
Just like in a customer service department,a great agent should always be willing to call new potential buyers. He should communicate with his existing clients and constantly chase new leads. The client has to be informed all the time and a great real estate agent should know that.
If the clients keep on calling their realtor, asking for information, it means that he is not proactive enough. He is not giving them the amount of information they really need.
If an agent talks too much and you cannot seem to be able to say a word, you have got a problem. The client is the one that is supposed to do all that talking, while the real estate agent should be listening to his requests and make sure that he understands them. A great agent should ask all the questions, not the clients.
4.Adapting to the clients’ needs
The realtor has to be able to read his customers. He needs to know what the preferred method of communication of every client is. Is it by phone? By email? By text message? The agent has to know all of these things. Otherwise, his clients might either feel pressured by too much communication or ignored by silence.
5.Motivated by clients
Whether we are talking about selling a house or buying it, one this is clear: it is a stressful process to go through. A great realtor knows that and he also knows that his client is going to need every bit of support he can get. The vendors should come first for every great agent.
Putting these 5 skills into practice will make any real estate agent to go from zero to hero. Not to mention that it will bring him a lot of clients. It takes a bit of will and determination to achieve greatness in this extremely volatile area.
