Yahoo’s partnership with Hulu is bearing fruit.
The companies have launched a community TV-watching site, dubbed Yahoo View, for iPhone and iPad users. The site offers episodes of your favorite television shows along with bonus content such as backstage clips, recaps and “the best of Tumblr fandom.” The app brings it users thousands of TV shows, anime and movies for free.
“Missed last night’s late-night monologue on TV? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with the launch of Yahoo View for iPhone,” Yahoo product management director Vishwa Ranjan said in a blog post.
“Featuring Hulu content, the new app offers you free access to the best TV moments, including the most popular clips in comedy, sports, late night, celebrity and news. We’re talking the best highlights from Blackish, Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel – does it get any better?”
Yahoo View —which is also available in the U.S. at view.yahoo.com — features a “beyond the episode” section that can block extras like spoilers about the video playing as well as offer picture-in-picture so viewers can watch videos while browsing to other content without leaving the screen.
U.S. users can download the Yahoo View iOS app here. Yahoo said its Android app and mobile Web experience “will be coming soon.”
