(Before It's News)

Amazon has introduced yet another incentive to convince customers to sign up for its Prime service.

02-family_vaultThe eCommerce firm today launched Family Vault, a new service that permits U.S. Prime subscribers to invite as many as five family members and friends to share their catalog of pictures and videos at no extra cost.

“Prime members love the benefit of unlimited photo storage but often struggle to collect and organize photos across multiple devices and accounts into a single, shareable archive,” Amazon Prime Photos directors David Nenke said in a press release. “We launched the Family Vault to make it easy for family members to safely store and share all their favorite moments.”

Via Family Vault, Prime members have unlimited photo storage and 5 GB for videos that can be shared with up to five family members or friends. Family Vault members can add their favorite photos as well and can set up their account to add all photos and videos they take to the Family Vault automatically if that is their wish.

Other benefits include Prime Photos’ new search technology, which makes finding photos based on people, places, or things easier. By entering a keyword to describe the photos they are looking for, users can quickly find the right images. For instance, by keying in “wedding,” a user could quickly locate his or her wedding pictures. Customers can also browse photos of individual family members and friends in the People view or opt to search and filter by location or date.

Customers can also now order photo books, cards, and prints via the Web, directly from their Prime Photos accounts. Delivery is, of course, free for Prime members. Customers can find out more at: www.amazon.com/printing.

Family Vault is available through Prime Photos beginning today or can be accessed via the Prime Photos iOS or Android apps.
