If you’re tired of watching Facebook videos on the small screen of your Smartphone, you can now transfer the clips to your television.
Facebook is rolling out the ability to stream video from your handset to your television using Apple TV or Chromecast. You, currently, can stream Facebook videos to Apple TV as well as other AirPlay-enabled devices or Chromecast and other Google Cast–enabled devices from an iOS device or your Web browser. The ability to cast from Android devices to Chromecast is coming soon.
“We’re focused on creating video experiences that people want, and we’ve heard that people want different options for how and where they watch videos that they discover on Facebook,” product director Brent Ayrey said in a blog post. “Whether you’re hanging out with friends or just relaxing on the couch by yourself, we hope you enjoy this new way to watch videos on Facebook.”
To cast a video to your TV, you need to press the TV symbol in the top right corner of your phone or computer screen then select the device you want the video to stream to. It’s as simple as that.
You can, while watching a Facebook video on your TV, scroll back through News Feed on your phone or desktop to see what your contacts have been up to or to find more videos to watch. While streaming a Facebook Live video to your TV, you can also see real-time reactions and comments on the screen, and join in the conversation by reacting or commenting.
