Firefox Focus by default blocks ad trackers, erases your browsing session with one tap and takes away the necessity of having to change privacy or cookie settings.
“We live in an age where too many users have lost trust and lack meaningful controls over their digital lives,” Mozilla said in a blog post. “For some users, it seems as though your web activities can follow you everywhere – across devices, across accounts. To make matters worse, the web can often feel cluttered. That’s why we are introducing Firefox Focus.”
The new mobile browser will give many users a performance boost as well because, as Mozilla explains, “much of what makes mobile webpages slow is the technology used to track Internet users. Because Firefox Focus blocks these trackers, it is likely you’ll notice a performance boost on the many sites that track your behavior.”
Also, Firefox Focus operates as a Safari content blocker on iOS, meaning users can take advantage of tracking protection on both Safari and Firefox Focus.
Firefox Focus can be downloaded from the App Store.
