Google today launched a much overhauled Google Sites after months of testing with select groups of users.
Google Sites enables users to build pages that are both attractive and functional for distribution across your enterprise. Optimized for every screen size, it offers an intuitive drag-and-drop feature and offers real-time collaboration by multiple editors. It also offers quick access to your Calendar, Docs, Drive and Maps to name a few. New themes and layouts adjust to any screen size.
During the beta testing phase, “some customers asked for the ability to measure how much engagement their sites were getting,” Google explained. “You can now track site performance with Google Analytics. Other customers asked for more customization and different designs, so you can now choose between six themes to give your site the right look.”
Here is Google Sites in action:
Google Sites is compatible with Google apps, enabling you to insert content from Google Calendar, a video clip from Google Drive, or a location from Google Maps. There is also the option to use content from Docs, Sheets, Slides and Forms. A live version is to be presented within the site.
