Permanent Magnets: A brief explanation
Specifically, how do these DC Motors (Gleichstrommotoren) such as model G30, GR42 and GR53 differ from other common motors used around presently including the shunt wound or series wound motors? It begins to generate voltage of its own, although voltage is put on the coil as it proceeds in the magnetic field. The voltage that is produced gradually cancels out the applied voltage, thereby causing it to be a perpetual motor that is rotating.
The proper phrase that is often used for the generated voltage is “back EMF.” EMF stands for electromotive force. The back EMF (electromotive force) value can be calculated by the magnet’s power in addition to the speed of turning. The more powerful the magnet is, the more the voltage and back EMF (electromotive force) increases. Ironically, a weaker magnet normally makes the motor run at a speed that is higher.
Implementing a load will slow down and reduce the motor speed. In this scenario, the voltage pressure (difference) will grow as the back EMF (electromotive force) decreases. Implementing more voltage will speed up the motor while using less will slow down it. So this can be why permanent magnet controllers are used to control the speed through feedback and voltage use.
