(Before It's News)

We live in a digital world, yet for many companies marketing is creating presentations that are not living up to their full potential. Much of this comes down to software or file-sharing limitations, but the good news is new cloud-based presentation software eliminates these barriers.

Once you make the shift to an online presentation tool, the possibilities are limitless as to what you can do when it comes to using multimedia in presentations to wow your prospects. And with processing visuals 60,000 times faster than text, you should do everything you can to use images, videos and other multimedia to make your presentation come to life.

Here are seven multimedia options you should be using in your presentations.

1. Videos

Nothing brings a presentation to life more than videos. With the majority of your prospects viewing your video online (via a unique URL shared with your prospects), you’ll definitely want to include videos in your presentation.

2. Infographics

Data is extremely powerful so putting that data into a visually-impactful format like an infographic makes it even more impressive. Be sure to incorporate infographics into your presentation so you can use data and facts to build persuasive, compelling stories.

3. 360-degree photos.

A cool bit of new technology that is rarely used but super impactful is 360-degree photos. With these types of photos users can click into the photo and move the image around, to see a bigger, better view. These types of photos are perfect for sales presentations for venues, display advertising, manufacturing, technology, architecture; essentially any product where seeing is believing and showing the product is a big part of the sales process.

4. High resolution photos

Speaking of seeing is believing, with cloud-based presentation software, you don’t need to skimp on photo size; the higher resolution, the better. Potato-quality images simply don’t cut it, especially if you’re selling high-end, luxury products. The better you can make your product look, the easier it will be to sell it and the more professional and reputable you and your company looks.

5. GIFs

Who doesn’t like a good GIF? Let’s face it, our attention spans are becoming shorter and shorter so although your product may have time to watch a full explainer video, a brief GIF showing a key feature will definitely capture customers’ attention. And don’t limit your GIFs only to product videos; GIFs are a great way to show some humor and personality in your presentation.

6. Loader screens

At Digideck we add what we call “loader screens” to each presentation we create. A loader screen is simply a screen that loads with content customized for your brand. Basically it’s a splash screen for your digital presentation. Many companies use these on their websites, so it’s the same concept – it’s an impactful screen that loads prior to your presentation to better engage your prospects from the start.

7. Hot spots

Another way to both engage your prospects and customize your sales presentation is to include “hot spots” throughout your deck. Though not applicable for every type of product, a hot spot is when you upload your prospect’s logo to your presentation and it loads in a variety of “hot spot” locations. This is typically used when companies are selling ad space and want to show how a prospect’s name or brand would appear in a number of different potential ad spaces.

As a marketer, you should be creating presentations that wow. Be sure to include these seven types of multimedia in your next presentation to do just that.
