Generating and closing sales can be one of the hardest things to do in a business. Customers love to be impressed, and sometimes common sales strategies just don’t cut it. Every business is trying to close sales, which often leads to the same sales strategies being overused. As a sales strategy becomes more overused it becomes less effective. This means that in order to be successful and close sales, you may need to think out of the box and come up with some new sales strategies. Unique sales strategies can be a great way to stand out to your customers and show off all of your company’s great qualities. Here are some great out of the box sales strategies to get you started.

Try to Help, Not Sell

One of the biggest problems that sales pitches seem to have is they seem fake and artificially constructed. These sales pitches focus on simply selling a product instead of actually establishing a relationship with the customer. Customers want to actually have their needs met, not just have a product pitched to them. Studies show that only 13% of customers believe that a sales person can truly understand their needs. That is why you should go out of your way to ensure that your customer understands how your product can help the customer and fix their problems. Once the customer understands that you are attempting to help them with their problem, then they will be much more receptive to your sales pitch and you should be able to easily close the sale.

Loyalty Programs

Loyalty programs are a great way to reward your loyal customers, but can also be a great way to close sales. Customers may spend a little extra and be more incentivized to spend money at your business if they know they will be rewarded for it. Studies show that customers are 84% more likely to visit a website of a retailer with a loyalty or rewards program. These rewards can include limited edition products or special deals that they won’t find anywhere else. Regardless of how you choose to do it, establishing a loyalty program can be a great way to help you close sales and boost your profits.

Introduce Subscriptions

Subscriptions can be a great way to attract new customers and close sales. Subscriptions allow customers to pay a monthly fee in return for small samples of your products every month. For example, a food company may sell a food subscription box that contains samples of the company’s newest products. If a customer likes these new products, then they will go out and purchase the contents of the subscription box. Subscriptions allow customers to actually test out your products before making a big commitment, which can be a great help when it comes to closing sales.

Sell a Complimentary Product or Service

One creative way to sell a product is to introduce a new complementary product that goes very well with it. Not only will your new product reach a new customer base, but since it compliments your old product it will improve its value. This strategy is a great way to show off your creative side by introducing a new product, while also improving the value of existing one. If done correctly sales should skyrocket due to your product’s increased value and your ability to tap into new markets.
