U.S. military reports six airstrikes against Islamic State near Kobani
The U.S. military said six airstrikes targeting Islamic State hit the militant group near the Syrian Kurdish border town of Kobani on yesterday and today.
The U.S.-led coalition airstrikes destroyed an armored personnel carrier, armed vehicles and artillery piece belonging to the militants.
Kurds, Islamists face off in Hamburg
Police in the German city of Hamburg had to break up a street fight between about 800 Kurds and Islamic State supporters.
The conflict in the Middle East has increased tensions across Germany.

UK ARRESTS OVER ‘SIGNIFICANT IS-RELATED PLOT’
Arrests in London relate to the first alleged terror plot with links to the Islamic State, according to reports in the UK media.
Four men were arrested in armed raids on Tuesday.

Dallas Ebola patient on ventilator and receiving kidney dialysis
The Ebola patient fighting for his life in a Dallas hospital is on a ventilator and kidney dialysis to help stabilize his health.
Liberian national Thomas Eric Duncan, the first person diagnosed with the deadly virus on U.S. soil, has also been given experimental medication . A hospital in Nebraska said it is using the same drug to treat an American journalist who was airlifted from Liberia.

British Prime Minister David Cameron is chairing an emergency meeting to discuss the UK’s response to the Ebola epidemic.
Sierra Leone’s President has told the UK prime minister the situation there is now, “very serious.”
Four people are in quarantine in Spain after a nurse there treating two missionaries with the virus contracted it herself.

The United States Coast Guard has set out new protocols to prevent
Ebola from entering America by sea.
New guidelines mean all ships will be contacted ahead of arrival in the US.
