When Will Christ Gather Together His Elect

The scriptures pertaining to Christ, who will gather together his elect, are absolutely essential doctrines for true Christians.

In essentials unity and in non essentials liberty must be recognized as a particularly disturbing statement. The reason why, is that according too many false teachers, the gathering unto Christ, happens to be one of the non essential teachings in the Word of God.

Gather Together His Elect

To suggest that it is not important to understand Christ’s own words, regarding the gathering together of the Elect, is a nonsensical notion that is beyond ludicrous.

It is not just the timing of Christ’s return that is essential to understand. The reason for His coming, as well as the identity of those He gathers, is of the utmost importance.

Rev 21:7-8 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Christ will gather together his elect after the tribulation, and unto them that look for him shall he appear a second time.

Matt 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

Christ will indeed gather together his Elect after the great tribulation, the duration of which is three and a half years. The article entitled, confirm the covenant with many for one week, will dispel the myth of a seven year tribulation.

The pre tribulation rapture is a man made heretical teaching that is not expressed or implied anywhere within the Word of God. It reflects the deceptive doctrines of men (Math 15:9). This is one of many beliefs adhered to by those who are led astray by the false teachers within the Christian church.

Matt 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

The Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he shall reward every man according to his works (Matt 16:27). This is the promise spoken of, in which Christ shall gather together his elect at the second coming. A rapture before the tribulation would require a third advent of Christ, and therefore represents a deadly deceptive teaching.

Heb 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

2 Tim 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom.

At the second coming, Christ shall gather together all of His Elect.

There are several crucial doctrines that Paul alludes to in this single verse:

  • The promise revealed in the Lord’s prayer, will be revealed as Christ will reign on earth for a thousand years (Rev 20:4-6).
  • Thy kingdom come, does not suggest that we are raptured or caught up to Heaven. Christ will gather together his elect at His coming, as it has been determined that the kingdom on earth will be given unto the saints of the most High (Dan 7:27).
  • Christ returns to reward the Saints who love his appearing, and He also brings all of the saints with Him (1 Thess 3:13, Jude 1:14).

2 Tim 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

  • All who are in Christ are sealed unto the day of Redemption. Those who are alive and remain towards the end of the great tribulation will know that their redemption draws near (Luke 21:28).
  • Paul’s hope is that he too will receive the crown of righteousness, at the same time as all those that love Christ’s appearing do. To suggest that Jesus would gather together his elect and reward them with eternal life before the tribulation, while the apostle waits until the end of the tribulation for his is utterly absurd (1 Peter 5:4, Rev 2:10).

2 Tim 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom.

When Christ appears a second time, He will gather together his elect to establish an earthly kingdom with them. If there is a pre tribulation rapture or gathering, these people would escape His judgment. All shall stand before the judgment seat of Christ (Rom 14:10).

The dead in Christ are the first ones to put on incorruption and immortality. The pre tribulation rapture theory represents the exact opposite of what Jesus taught. Christ descends from heaven with the Saints, they do not ascend up to Him (John 3:13, 1 Cor 15:42-53, 1 Thes 4:13-17).

1 Thess 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first

The following verses are in reference to the last trumpet. This is when Christ will gather together his Saints, to be raised up unto incorruptibility, at the end of the tribulation period.

Rev 10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

Rev 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Rev 16:17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

1 Cor 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Gather Together His Elect

Hey ChristianTruthProject, you have a catchy name. Unfortunately your Bible doctrine is totally incorrect. I suggest you study your Bible more carefully before proclaiming these deceptions because those that teach will be more harshly judged. There is much more wrong with what you have written here than I have space to describe. But you are taking scripture out of context and quoting things from Revelations that have not even happened yet. And to say that the “pre tribulation rapture is a man made heretical teaching that is not expressed or implied anywhere within the Word of God.” shows just how little you know about the Word of God. I suggest you read my study on this which shows very clearly from scripture that the rapture does indeed happen at the start of the Tribulation. You can find it here ItsHisStory.com

On second thought, you might want to be Left Behind?

I’d say your destinedtobeleftbehind, you come as you are called each man in his order, your clearly NOT CALLED.

  • justoldog

This dogma is like something a 5 year old would come up with- simplistic and demeaning to God. God has spoken again to help us through the trials ahead- All here, all free, for ALL people- http://www.newmessage.org/

The fraudulent “Rapture” belief was invented by 19th century preachers and is entiirely opposed to Chghrist;’s own teachingfon the matter. Just as the article says.
Yeah, we are to be “tried as gold in the fire” Those not tested , or aanxious to be “raptured away” before any tribvulation, are damned already.
I choose to stay and wait for the true Jesus!

How about we stop focusing on the when and spend more time focusing on the main attraction. JESUS….
Our eyes should always be on Jesus. When is really irrelevant. It is all about the Who! Christians should always be looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. When we take our focus off Jesus it allows us to focus on this sin filled world. There is NO Victory in the world, victory is only in Jesus the Lover of our very soul. There is so much deception in (what I believe to be the times spoken of by John, Ezekiel and Daniel) these times. We must be vigilant and ever ready for the Masters call. Salvation is found only in Jesus, won’t you give your life to Him this day?

Who gets to go first or last with God is an absurd and shallow idea… The bible has been re-worked and re-written too many times. Words have been manipulated and twisted by so-called religious leaders through out history. There is no way for us to know what has been altered to serve the needs of the evil oligarchs throughout history either.

For one… God did not create religions…Man created religions, to control man.

For two… This is something that we know in our heart and in our souls, regardless of what an often misquoted bible says…
God gave and entrusted us to protect a Heaven on Earth. He also gave us Freedom to make our own choices and decisions in our life. We collectively blew it. Evil snuck in and deviously stole it from under our noses while we slept and has been moving steadily ahead with the help of his many minions to make a Hell on Earth.
Take a look around and understand that how this happened long ago… is how it continues to happen today… while many prefer to be oblivious and continue to sit and watch the evil take it all.

We cannot just sit and wait for God to save what is left… that attitude certainly will not rest well with the Lord. Those that are willing to die for God need to understand that this earth was given to us to protect and maintain and if we do nothing to do so… we have forsaken God.
WE are the way, the truth and the light… Those that oppose the evil and work against it to defeat it here on our beautiful God given planet will either find heaven in life, or in death.
Those that site idly by will take a share of the responsibility for the failure to act to protect our gifts from God… and for those that knowingly and willingly sided with the evil they will one day pay the full price for their crimes against God and humanity.
I doubt the Lord will be taking deserters or the apathetic to an early reward…

The 1st thing Jesus will have to explain to Christians is that his real name is IHESU.
and the 1st thing I would ask him is “Are the Catholic Pedophile Priests here?”, for I dont want to live eternally if I am surrounded by Pedo’s, or people singing “Songs of Praise” with the Cherubim 24/7.
Anyone who sang “Onward Christian Soldiers” will be barred for war propaganda >(Thou shall not KILL).

    ## CHRISTIANS ## The “Mystery Babylon” of Jesus is the date of his DEATH. We all know he was born on Dec 25th(winter solstice), but why does his day of death always change every year?

Nothing to do with the Day of Blood (SANGUIS DIES) ….the lamb sacrifice ?……..seems the Catholic Church doesnt care as long as it coincides with their SUNDAY MASS, after this date the 24th March…….

MATTHEW 19:12 “For some men are born eunechs, some made eunechs by men, and some become eunechs for the Sake of the Kingdom of Heaven. Accept this if you can……”

Why is Jesus talking about men who commit “CELIBACY” on themselves to gain entry to heaven, especially when he is still alive and hasnt yet died for mans salvation and entry into heaven?

Funny how St Peter’s is built over the top of their old temple……….& Jesus is also the Lamb of God>AGNUS DEIS

  • Dave 1963

Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 are all red letter verses. Too bad none of you believe what Christ said about his second coming.

The scenario laid out in this article is the doctrine of Cyrs Scofield it comes out of the commentary section of a Scofield Reference Bible. Look between Gen 12 and Gen 32 at the bottom of the page and you’ll find the twisted doctrine of men laid out for you. This twisted Zionist doctrine has perverted the Christian church and caused what you see happening in Israel today. Shame on you!

    • DieJobi

Please clarify. Are you of the belief that if one believes in a rapture they are condemned to hell for that belief? whether pre-mid-or post tribulation?

      • christiantruthproject

Absolutely not, however many will be condemned because they are deceived and do not have the mind of Christ Those who are taken to hell at Christ’s return are the unbelievers who play church but do not have the Lord dwelling within them

2 Tim 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom.

  • Miss M

What does this passage mean to you, Christian truth project: Luke 21:36, “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy TO ESCAPE all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man” I would like your take on this–please elaborate. Thank you.

    • christiantruthproject

Luke 21:8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

Luke 21:9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

Luike 21:17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.

Luke 21:26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Luk 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Those who truly are in Christ will Escape Deception and Fear and are not entangled with the cares of this world!!

Thank you for a great article. I totally agree with your thoughts.
Most of the church are waiting for Jesus to ‘rescue’ them out of this world before it gets nasty. What they miss is the fact that WE are supposed to rescue this world!!
Yes the church DOES go through the tribulation, but we WON’T go through the ‘wrath’ of God which will be brought upon those who blatantly refuse to acknowledge Jesus as Lord.
If the church isn’t to go through the tribulation then why are we told to NOT TAKE THE MARK OF THE BEAST!!
The tribulation is when the church will see the greatest harvest ever come in.
Why do we think that our gracious loving God doesn’t care for the billions of people on earth who don’t yet know Him?
It’s the tribulation that will bring MANY to their knees. Somebody needs to be here to receive the harvest.
Pre-tribulation doctrine has lulled the church into a false sense of security. I’m sure those persecuted Christians in non-Christian nations don’t believe in a pre-tribulation.
The church is told to prepare herself. This means preparing Spiritually AND physically. Don’t be caught out unprepared when all hell breaks loose on this earth. Horrific things are coming but we live under the promise of Psalm 91.
Read Isaiah 60. It speaks of today. No pre-trib rapture but a description of these end times. The glory of the Lord rising on His people amidst darkness covering the earth.
Stand up church! God is counting on you to go forth and bring in the greatest harvest ever.
“He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”
    ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭22:20-21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

the rapture folks do not take kindly to logic much less actual words of the prophets and even Jesus Christ Him self.

THEY DEMAND to go to heaven and live in mansions and to look down on us

I too have read of the conversion of as many as 50 or 60 million from the 10 tribes of Israel and the 2 tribe of Judah all converted by experiencing the Time of Jacob’s Trouble.

Their heads are so hard it will take death, torture and horrendous slavery to an unimaginable degree to force them to Seek the Father and finally bend their knees to the KING of kings.

    • christiantruthproject

Jenny well spoken, although you said
“The tribulation is when the church will see the greatest harvest ever come in”

      consider the verse below
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

      • Anonymous

Yes, few there be that find life in the intimate presence of God. The most holy place. The inner sanctum. The Holy of Holies.
The tabernacle was made according to the pattern in Heaven. The outer court, the Holy Place, and the Most Holy Place.
“Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;”
        ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭9:23-24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
It is according to the state of our hearts that determines where we will end up in Heaven. The outer court, the Holy place or the Holy of Holies which is in the intimate presence of God. Remember it’s the pure in heart who will see God.
“Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.”
        ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭3:12-15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
        Consider Revelation 7:
“After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands,”
        ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭7:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”
        ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭7:14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
        This is the great harvest.
God is not going to let the devil win on a numbers count.

The Anti-christ cannot be revealed until that which restrainest is removed. 2 thess 2:6 (the Holy Spirit).
Also this is the Age of the Holy Spirit, who is promised to comfort and takr care of the Church.
At the time just prior to the Tribulation period the members of the Church in good standing will be removed By a Pre-Trib Rapture 2 Thess 4:17 “Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

After the Rapture, God will use the two witnesses prophesying about the Anti-christ, the 144 thousand to preach the Gospel, and Angels flying through the air, telling people not to take the Mark. The only Christians left will be those not ready for the Rapture, who will have to refuse the mark and be put to death by the Anti-christ in order to qualify to be saved as Martyrs.

Let the point herein be made before you assume the context here:

Our faith in Christ for salvation is based upon His word of promise that “whoever believes in me shall not perish but have ever lasting life.” It is written that:

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” John 1:12

This does not say that we obtain eternal life and become a son of God by believing and understanding all mysteries, nor all prophecies. You see mysteries and prophecies are things God unveils when the time has come, and so for ages some things have not been understood. When it is time to be revealed it will be and not before. (Do you clearly understand it all? Me neither!)

This also did not say that we obtain eternal life and become a son of God by understanding the rapture scripture and understanding whether it is pre, mid or post tribulation. If you believe in Jesus and walk with Him you do not have to worry about missing any event He has planned for His people. Regardless of whether you know the mystery of it or not.

(Again: If you believe in Jesus and walk with Him you do not have to worry about missing any event He has planned for His people. Regardless of whether you know the mystery of it or not. ~ Did you comprehend the truth of this?)

Furthermore the scriptures do not say that we obtain eternal salvation and become a son of God by being one of the 144,000, nor by being Elijah or believing that someone might be Elijah. Just like the scriptures do not say that we obtain eternal salvation and become a son of God by being a descendant of one of the tribes of Israel, or by being a part of the Old Covenant people because we are in the New Covenant which is the covenant of faith that is obtain through God’s grace.

What the scriptures tell us that we can obtain from God, we do so through faith in Christ and by no other means. We do not have to be any of these things some people preach that we have to be, since all we have to do is believe Christ and His word. We follow Jesus and not men.

If you preach that men have to be any of the things I mentioned above you are way off base, you have missed the mark. All a soul has to be is a believer in Christ to receive their salvation and eternal life and to become a son or daughter of God. If you say something else and add to this, then you are adding to the word, which also takes away from the word, and do God a disservice. You are both a liar and a thief, you are a false prophet and false christ.
