The teaching of Jesus Christ and the New Covenant Law

To claim to be justified by the old law is actually a departure from the teaching of Jesus Christ on this subject (Gal 5:4; Gal 5:18). You will never hear this truth presented by the false teachers in the Christian Church.

teaching of Jesus Christ

Rom 4:14 For if they which are of the law [be] heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:

Those that think they are justified by the old law are ignorant of the teaching of Jesus Christ and His New Testament covenant. These misguided souls will not partake in the new promise and inheritance.

The Old Testament Law has been replaced by the New Testament Covenant. As a result of the death and resurrection of Christ, true Spirit filled believers understand that they are no longer under the Old Law according to the teaching of Jesus Christ.

Luke 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Christ fulfilled the Old Testament law or contract, and once a contract has expired or is completed it is no longer then in force.

Matt 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

The Old Testament Law has been replaced by the New Testament Covenant. As a result of the death and resurrection of Christ, true Spirit filled believers are not under the Old Testament Law.

This teaching of Jesus Christ should be easy to understand, but so many are blind to this essential Christian doctrine (1 Cor 3:14; 2 Cor 4:4).

Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

The Old Testament law is fulfilled in Christ, and they are revealed to us in the New Testament Covenant.

To claim to be justified by the old law is actually a separation from Christ, as you are fallen from grace and not led by the spirit of truth (Gal 5:4; Gal 5:18).

You will never hear this truth presented by the false teachers in the Church.

Rom 4:14 For if they which are of the law [be] heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:

Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

An essential teaching of Jesus Christ , is understanding that our teacher ultimately is the Holy Spirit that Christ sent to us. Once we have the infilling of His Spirit, we can know the truth that sets us free from the bondage of deceit, false hope and deceptive illusions.

Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

One of the essential doctrines for Christians is that it is impossible to mix the New Testament Covenant that has the saving blood of Christ, with the Old Testament Law that did not. They simply are contrary to one another.

Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

Col 2:20-22 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, after the commandments and doctrines of men?

Putting new wine into an old bottle will cause both to perish, because the old bottle is not designed for the new. Under the Old Testament Law there was a temple that God’s Spirit dwelt in. The new teaching of Jesus Christ is that we are the temple that he dwells in (1 Cor 3:16-17; 1 Cor 6:19).

Man made institutions, governments and bureaucracies are more often than not full of deceit. The teaching of Jesus Christ  teaching of Jesus Christ declares that satan is the god of this world, and he has infiltrated most of them. Satan has indeed placed false teachers in the Christian Church, and apostates in schools of theology as well. The Christian believer must rely on the Holy Spirit to uncover or reveal Christ’s testimony, as His truth is spiritually discerned.

2 Cor 4:3-4 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them

The evidence of the infiltration by the enemy into the church body is two fold. It shows up in the various belief systems that the clergy cling to after graduating from these so-called centers of higher learning. Then these false teachers in the Christian Church pass on these blatant lies to their congregations, that fully embraces both the teacher and the message.

The teaching of Jesus Christ on tribulations is ignored my many

2 Tim 3:12-13 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

The Great Tribulation and the Wrath of God, represent two unique events, with very different end results. All peoples who are alive on planet earth during the final three and a half years, of this current age, will experience the Great Tribulation. According to the  teaching of Jesus Christ, there will be no rapture or gathering of the church, until this time of trouble has expired.

Rev 6:16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

The wrath of God, is the eternal separation of the ungodly from His Elect (Math 25:31-32).

1 John 2:26-27 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

If we do indeed have the Spirit of Truth, we will hear the Word and be able to distinguish between correct teachings and fables. An essential teaching of Jesus Christ is to diligently seek to rightly divide the Word of truth (2 Tim 2:15).

Eph 5:6  Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

Eph 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

The infilling of the Holy Spirit is our connection with Christ, that teaches guides and shows us things to come. The true followers of Christ, that are Spirit filled, will not accept lies such as the pretribulation rapture fairy tale.

JUST Who is it — that is claiming to be “justified” by keeping the LAW —– THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR A HUMAN TO KEEP??

there has never been a human that has perfectly obeyed the Law — “all have come short of the glory of God”.

Jesus Christ is the only one that has not sinned — all before and all after Christ are sinners “under” the law sentence of death for transgressing the Law.

The Torah and the entirety of the WORD of GOD teaches the ONLY Justification comes by the blood of our Passover Jesus Christ.

Your hatred of the Holy Law of God is blinding you to the TRUTH of GOD.

Christ purchased me from my old master i.e. sin and thus is my new Master and my Master commands me to obey HIM. I obey my Master.

Why call you ME LORD LORD and do not the things I say”"” — and Christ states clearly if you love me Keep the Commandments.

There is no reward for a servant doing his duty, but if I do not what my Master commands I am an unprofitable servant and will be cast aside.

YOU sir are teaching lies and YOU are ignoring the VERY WORDS of our LORD and MASTER which you are quoting.

  • destined2Bconfusedforever,

    Twisting scriptures again I see!

Col. 2: 14 scripture causes much confusion. Lets will study it word by word.

14 “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; “ KJV

14 “Having canceled the ‘charge’ of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.” NIV

14 “He canceled the ‘record’ of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.” NLT

Blotting out: #1813, Esaleipho; To smear out i.e. obliterate (erase tears, fig. pardon sin) blot or wipe away. The word blotting is use only one time in the entire Bible.

Handwriting: #5498, Cheiragogos; something handwritten, a legal document or bond.

please take note —This word “handwriting” is used only one time in the entirety of the Bible.

Ordinances: #1379 Dogmatizo; to prescribe by statute, i.e. (reflex,) to submit to certain rule – be subject to

ordinances. #1379 is used twice in Colossians 2: only.

Against: #2596, Kata; def. is too long to include. Basic definition, Against or opposition.

Contrary: #5227 Hupenantios, an opponent; adversary.

I will venture my opinion here, when Isaiah wrote; “That they might go and fall backward and be broken and snared and taken”, this scripture fits what Isaiah wrote perfectly.

After my comments on verse 14 are written, few will agree — as the Law is truly hated.

Of a truth; if God the Father does not open ones mind to understand His overall Plan scriptures like the above will confuse and be a constant source of contention and even actual fighting until Christ returns.

Understanding that the two words ‘blotting out (Esaleipho)’ ; and ‘handwriting (Cheiragogos)’ are each used only once in the entirety of the Bible and Ordinances (dogmatizo) used twice.

And further, seeing the definition of blotting out can figuratively mean: ‘pardon sin’ which combined with many other scriptures explains how the sacrifice of Christ removes our sins and not the Law; Thus the closest and most accurate translation is the NIV.

    Look closely at the three translations and Strong’s definition, the KJV says ‘blotting out the handwriting” and the NIV says “having canceled the charge” and the NLT “He canceled the record”, Strong’s calls it a Legal document;

Can you not see what was nailed to Christ’s Stake? There is not one word of the LAW being nailed it is something written by hand a charge, a record, a legal document that was nailed to the stake with Christ.

None of those words relate to the 10 Commandments or the Law of Moses by any stretch of anyone imagination.

What was nailed to the stake was the “record of the charge written in a legal document” it is the record of our being found guilty of transgressing the Law of God that was nailed.

What Jesus Christ took with Him to the stake upon which He died was the written legal verdict of death each of us has hanging over our heads. That is what we are UNDER , we are legally condemned and under sentence of death.

The written sentence of death, a legal document, and not the Holy Eternal Law of God was nailed to the Stake.

Each of our personal written verdicts of death for our transgressions are what Christ took with HIM to that stake.

If Paul was trying to say ‘Christ nailed the law to the stake’, why use all those strange words? Why not just say “He took the Law away nailing it to His stake???

Because Paul was not struggling to remove God’s Law but showing how the record of our sins and our sentence of death is what Christ took to His Stake.

Using the additional definitions of the key words verse 14 says: –

‘Wiping away’ the ‘legal documents’ prescribed by ‘certain rules’ containing the ‘verdict of death’ which condemned us to death He took them [the documents] with Him to be nailed to the stake.

Our written sentence of dead was nailed to the stake IN or with Christ.

All my personal sins written on a legal document, legally and according to Law, demanding my death for transgressing the Law of God were nailed to the stake with Jesus Christ: Christ changed the name on the document sentencing me to death to His name.

My debt to sin is paid in full; I am no longer “under” the condemnation or sentence of death

but you sir are yet “under” the Law — under the sentence of death.

And yet you refuse to stop twisting the very WORDS of our LORD and Master—
