Why is it that the Church Suffers Deception?

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Have you ever noticed that the Church seems to be so divided in its purpose and intent?  Oh I’m not talking about its choice of curriculum or its many social programs, I’m talking about at the very foundation of its existence is a question as to who is in charge of the journey.  You see Jesus (Yeshua) was clear to point out that He would be the one to build His church, but all too often it has been the desire of man to help God along. Hence we see a wide variety of religious kingdoms that have the appearance of godly approval, but all too often men are the ones getting the glory.
What this man centered pattern of performance has done is created over 40,000 denominations that call themselves Christian. This monster of a number does not deserve our praise, nor does it adequately describe the wishes of but one God. Hence mans multiplicity often usurps God’s oneness. The reason that this is even a problem  is because we missed a foundational aspect of the gospel which keeps us on the strait and narrow.
There is one pivotal event that all believers look to which define them as Christian. That event is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Without it we have no chance of gaining salvation, relationship with God or any hope of changing our sinful heart. This valuable sequence of events begins with the crucifixion of the Christ and what He accomplished on the Cross.
When Jesus died a number of things took place.  First, His blood was shed in order to redeem us back to God. This selfless act literally purchased us for God and paved the way for man to gain right standing with the Father.

Ephesians 1:7-8 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.

As wonderful and amazing as that redemption is there are still other benefits that were provided by Christ’s encounter with death.
• We were freed from the curse once imposed upon mankind for failing to live up to God’s standards. Galatians 3:13
• The Serpent lost power over those who are now found in Christ. Colossians 2:15
• The Law of Moses was moved out of the way as our chief standard of performance. Colossians 2:14
• The fallen nature of man has been crucified. Romans 6:1-3

Now we bring these points to light in order to make a point; the Christian life finds its greatest freedom by first identifying with the death of our Savior. Paul the apostle brings it all into perspective by saying;

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

What Paul discovered for himself and for us all was Jesus’ death was also the place of our death.  No, we didn’t die physically, but rather Jesus took us into His own death so that we could come to know His life.  Here, take a look at these many verses that reinforce the same principle;
Romans 6:2 We died to sin.
Romans 6:3 You were baptized into his death?
Romans 6:6 The old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with.
Romans 6:7 Anyone who has died has been freed from sin.
Romans 6:8 Died with Christ… alive with him.
Romans 6:11 Count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Romans 7:4 You also died to the law through the body of Christ.
Romans 7:6 By dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law.
1Corintians 5:14 Christ died for all; therefore, all died.
Galatians 2:19 I died to the law so that I might live for God.
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
Colossians 2:20 You died with Christ to the basic principles of this world.
Colossians 3:3 You died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God..
2Timothy 2:11 If we died with him, we will also live with him.
Colossians 1:22 You were reconciled by Christ’s physical body through death.
Colossians 2:12 You were buried with him in baptism and raised with him through faith in the power of God

By supernaturally entering into death with Him we discover a tangible and powerful separation from the world, the flesh, the devil but also every religious substitute. You see this purpose driven death not only rescued us at the time of salvation but it has properties that force us  to serve one God and Father.  By identifying with Christ’s death on the Cross we finally settle in our minds and hearts that it is all about Him.  Up to this point many have thought it was up to them to bring in the kingdom, but we’ve been trying to hard. We’ve also gone so far as to depend on our own natural conclusions to make life and faith work. This tendency to trust in natural strength began with man in the garden.
Initially mankind found purpose by taking dominion. Having been blessed by God he was released to steward God’s creation as he saw fit. Of course, this commission was soon interrupted as the first family gave over their power and authority to the Serpent. In the process the god of this world perverted man’s attempts to ever achieve true earthly success from that time forward.
This is why Jesus had to come; it was not just to return us to relationship with the Father, but to provide us a way to escape our fallen ambitions. Think of it this way; at one time God was pleased with man’s natural ability to succeed, yet God is now more pleased with the success of His Son.

John 15:5“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Having since ascended into heaven and having seated Himself at the right hand of the Father, Jesus now invites us to succeed in life by the council and direction of His Holy Spirit. A stewardship that once encouraged us to trust in fleshly means is now dependant on the Spirit of God for each and every step we take. If you have trouble seeing what that actually looks like then let me ask you a question;
“What do dead people do?”
Dead people do nothing, dead people are owned by nothing, dead people are free of their fallen nature and dead people stop striving in their own strength. Yet dead people must also wait upon the Spirit of God if they intend to ever experience resurrection life. You see the same power that raised Christ from the dead is available to quicken our mortal bodies. Jesus doesn’t leave us in the grave, but rather offers us a greater purpose based on His own glory and goodness; it how we become more like Him.
Now I realize that a personal death, burial and resurrection experience with God may be a foreign concept to many. However without passing all our works through the Cross it is likely that our “old man” has often been the one going to Church. By dismissing this very important aspect of the gospel message many have been spinning their religious wheels. In fact, all too often the Cross has remained an icon of the past rather than a pillar of present stability.  I use the term “stability” because the Cross lets us finally let go and let God.  If that’s the case then maybe we should be willing to hand over a life time of instability. In so doing Jesus by His Holy Spirit is able to instill within us a healthy blueprint for life, love and commitment. That even includes how we have previously defined the Christian experience. Since He did the work for us and revealed to us His way of escape we can let Him finish the transformation process.  Here’s a verse that shows us how to apply this aspect of the gospel to our lives.

Colossians 3:5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

How do we do this? In the same manner that we asked for salvation we also get to ask God for transformation. Here’s another verse that confirms it’s about trusting Him for renewal.

Romans 8:13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.

We separate from our former way of life by trusting the Holy Spirit to do the work for us as well as in us. As we call upon Him to deal with any point of human frailty, He takes what Jesus did for us on the Cross and applies it to our current circumstances.
What is set before us is a way to reevaluate our current quality of life but also our perceptions of faith.  Certainly we can begin by trusting God to take away our sinful actions, however it doesn’t end there. You see all our actions need redeeming even the good ones.
 Isaiah hints at this by saying;
Isaiah 64:6a All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags…

As believers who desire to live a godly life, we have at times added unnecessary rules, regulations and commitments to the mix. Many of these hindrances appeal to our natural desire to succeed, but these fall short of the glory God. This is probably the greatest reason why we need to let the Cross challenge our previous attempts at living the Christian life.
If you are willing, in the days ahead you can expect that the Holy Spirit will bring to mind some of the things that distract you from living a happy, productive and organic life in Christ. Some of these issues may include how you improperly relate to men, organizations, the world and even a faulty faith. Basically wherever we once placed too much emphasis on our own ability to make life and faith work; He will be suggesting a course correction. At that moment of introspection, plan on recognizing how Jesus separated you from that improper connection at the Cross. You can then expect that He will complete the task by raising you up anew by His resurrection power.

Romans 6:4 We were therefore buried with him (Jesus) through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

Application
Jesus, on my behalf take my religious trappings into death with you so that I can know only one faith, one hope and one God.

I dunno, maybe because it promotes deception?

      • Fokofpoes

Labeling yourself as a Christian, Jewish or Muslim does not automatically make you a decent person.

But it does make you institutionalized through mob mentality and coercion.

      • Morgana Le Fay

Precisely. Like most religions, their whole mythical doctrine is based on a lie.

        • Fokofpoes

Perhaps not so much a lie, but the bastardization of truth into a lie and social engineering and politicization that goes with that?

          • Fokofpoes

That is, entropy. Truth, derivative, information loss, lie.

          • Morgana Le Fay

Perhaps. I don’t argue that their may be a god/higher intelligence of some kind, but if that is the case I don’t believe humans will ever truly understand its nature, and I certainly don’t believe any of the religions hold a monopoly on the truth of the matter.

            • Morgana Le Fay

So I guess you could say I’m agnostic; the existence of God is impossible to prove or disprove. That said, many of the tenets espoused by religions of all stripes are quite easily debunked.

            • Fokofpoes

Yeah well. I found a certain amount of truth in sincerity. A rather large load of shit in advertising, if you know what I mean.

I’m possible, you say? Now, you’re the only one that knows the truth of him, you may call me the prince of lies.

      Gordon,

The two statements below demonstrate a lack of understanding.

“When Jesus died a number of things took place. First, His blood was shed in order to redeem us back to God. This selfless act literally purchased us for God and paved the way for man to gain right standing with the Father.”

“The Law of Moses was moved out of the way as our chief standard of performance. Colossians 2:14″

First, by bleeding to death Christ became our PASSOVER, Christ died to pay for our sins — and sin is the transgression of the LAW i.e. the TORAH i.e. the 5 books of Moses spoken by the mouth of Jesus Christ to Moses on the mountain.

Without the shedding of blood there is NO FORGIVENESS for sin. AND sin is the transgression of THE LAW 1 John 3: 4.

That death did not “pave the way” — it IS THE ONLY WAY — and when a person repents of transgression the HOLY LAW of GOD and is baptized i.e. – joins in Christ’s death, burial and resurrection – and then is given the Father’s Spirit by the laying on of hands THAT person is then reconciled to the Father.

The life time of sin each one of us had lived which demands our death — was paid in full by the death of Jesus Christ.

Sin equals death. Transgressing even one of the Commandments automatically imparts the sentence of death.

Christ became our Passover by observing perfectly the Torah i.e. the Law of Moses.
Jesus Christ, by living in perfect obedience to that Holy WAY of GOD i.e. The Torah, — showed us that WAY !!!

Christ stated That WAY is a very narrow way that FEW FIND! Not one billion but just a few are called and then chosen.

      many are called FEW CHOSEN!

That “WAY” is the way of righteousness which Christ came to show us, to live as our example to follow.

How can you follow Christ and not live as HE lived???

Christ never said ” do not do as I do” Christ said follow ME and Christ lived by the TORAH to perfection.

The Law of Moses was never “moved out to the way as our chief standard” — it is the only STANDARD given.

What was ended is the sacrificial law which was added later due to SIN. and that “added law” was our school master leading us to the sacrifice of Christ.

Lev 26: 1 – 39 is the Covenant — please show me where animal sacrifice was included?
You can study that covenant for ever and you will not find sacrifice mentioned.

      • Gordon

The points you mentioned are not the main focus of the subject at hand. But thanks for expounding on the way in which we gain redemption and right standing with God.

        • Truthseeker

          gordon

the subject of the article is not the point, statements that are not accurate – are!

          Paul made the statement that Christ IS our Passover;

6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ —- our Passover — is sacrificed for us:

8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

If your statement that the law of Moses was moved out of the way “were” true then the Law found in the Torah would end the Passover — thus making Paul a liar.

Also if the Torah i.e. the 5 books of Moses were abolished as the standard then why does Paul state “let us keep the Feast” i.e. the Feast of Unleavened Bread?

Did Christ forget to mention to them He abolished the Torah?

Gordon why do those that call themselves Christians not follow Jesus Christ?
Christ stated over and over “follow ME” , how can one follow Christ and not do as HE DID?

“Why call ME “LORD LORD” and do NOT the things I say?

Christ came to reveal clearly that very narrow path that leads to eternal life and that “path” is found in the Torah,

Wide is the way that leads to destruction and with 40,000 flavors of so called christiantiy that is a very wide way!!!

Everything Christ taught can be found in the Torah.

          • maxwell

…seeker…”everything Jesus taught is found in the Torah.” How can you prove this?
I will enjoy your efforts, I’m sure. So…prove it Seeker.

            • Truthseeker

              Maxwell

All that Jesus Christ “spoke” – “fulfilled” -“preached” or “taught” for 3 ½ years – came directly from, was foretold by or can be found in the “The Law (Torah), the Prophets and the Psalms”

To become “our” — PASSOVER — Jesus Christ of Nazareth lived by “Every – word – that proceedeth out of the mouth of God”

Jesus lived by every Word of GOD — TO –- PERFECTION !

              Matthew 4: 4

4 But he answered and said, It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

Matthew 4: 4; was a direct quote from the TORAH:

              Deuteronomy 8: 3.

3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every [word] that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

At His death the ONLY WORD OF GOD on earth was the “The Old Testament” [ The Tanakh ] which includes The Torah i.e “The Law”.

The writings of the Apostles did not become what is now called the “New Testament” until almost 400 years after the death of Christ and even then no one but catholic priests were allowed to read those writings for over 1000 years.

Do you understand none of the 11 Apostles including Paul ever read the Book of Revelation? Only John saw it as he wrote down the WORD of God from the SON as it was revealed to HIM at the end of his life ! And No Apostle ever read what we now call the New Testament; they may have read some of the letters each wrote, but all the letters were never assembled together until centuries after their deaths.

The only WORD of God available to Jesus Christ during His 33 ½ years on earth was what is now called the Old Testament and at His death some of Jesus’ very last words were from David’s Psalms.

FACT: The only WORD of God available to the Apostles during their lifetime — the Old Testament.

              Psalms 22
1 my God, why hast thou forsaken me? [why art thou so] far from helping me, [and from] the words of my roaring?

              Matthew 27

46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is to say, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? “

50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost (breath or spirit).

In fact David’s 22nd Psalm quoted above is about the life and death of Jesus Christ. Must we also abolish Psalms to the garbage can of history as well??

If Psalms was the WORD of GOD i.e. TRUTH, to Christ — how can it NOT BE the WORD of GOD today??

It was TRUTH in the day of Jesus Christ and now it is — NOT?

God’s TRUTH CAN CHANGE? YOUR God can change?

Jesus Christ lived a sinless life by following – “TO PERFECTION” – every WORD of GOD written in the TORAH, the Prophets and the Psalms. Jesus Christ of Nazareth was judged by the Law, by the Torah and was found by His Father to be without SIN; PERFECT AND BLAMELESS !

Our Perfect Passover Lamb without blemish died in our stead.

Jesus Christ had to be — sinless: –as only – A SINLESS – Savior could became SIN for mankind and die on the stake for us: Jesus Christ IS OUR PASSOVER!

1 Corinthians 5: 7 “— For even Christ– our – Passover – is sacrificed for us:”

Passover belongs to GOD, not the Jews. Exodus 12: 27

The majority of so called Christians – to this day – ignorantly and boastfully proclaim – “Jesus Christ nailed that LAW to the stake.”

That — “LAW” – which IS THE TORAH – which Jesus Christ followed perfectly for 33 ½ years and taught His disciples’ for 3 ½ years – That LAW !

“So called” “Christians” who proudly teach the LAW was abolished at the Stake, — can not seem to make the obvious connection in their own minds:

That — “THEY” — are accusing Jesus Christ of Lying!

If the Law, The Torah, was abolished at the stake then the statement Jesus Christ made in Matthew 4: 4 quoting from Deuteronomy 8: 3 was a lie!

If Christ began His ministry by teaching we must live by “Every Word” and then He abolished — “Every Word” – would that not convict Christ of lying?

For Christ to defeat Satan — using the Torah — as HE DID — and afterward instructed us to live by that very Word of God — for Christ to THEN abolish that very Word by which He defeated Satan, that very WORD He instructed us for 3 ½ years to live by — is that not deceitful? Is that not a lie?

Do you folks not understand the implications of your own doctrine? If Christ ABOLISHED The Law, the Prophets and the Psalms after living and teaching them for 3 ½ years — do you not understand you are accusing Jesus Christ of teaching lies, of teaching doctrines that are not ETERNAL not TRUTH ?

When the Term “LAW” is used it refers to the Torah which contains the Covenant, the 10 Commandments, the Statutes and the Judgments i.e. the five books of Moses.

Why teach for 3 ½ years from books that are to be dumped in the trash can of history as worthless? Why did Jesus Christ teach His Disciples from the LAW and the Prophets for 3 ½ years, teaching them to observe every Word of God only to then refute and abolish everything He taught for 3 ½ years at His death ??

Believing Jesus Christ taught for 3 ½ years that which was to be abolished upon His death can only be logical and acceptable — to a deceived person!

The purpose is to factually and logically demonstrate Jesus Christ taught from the Tanakh and every word He spoke was in complete compliance with God’s TORAH. It must be so for Jesus Christ to become our — SINLESS — Savior — our PASSOVER.

What better way to demonstrate this “fact” then with the temptation of Jesus Christ and the “Sermon on the Mount”.

Jesus Christ fasted for 40 days and 40 nights and then soundly defeated Satan the Devil when Satan tried to tempt a weakened Jesus Christ to sin by appealing to a great weakness found in all human flesh; vanity and pride. Our Savior defeated Satan, the god of this world, by using the LAW; The Torah.

              Matthew 4:
1Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

4 But he answered and said, It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

              Deuteronomy 8

3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; “that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every [word] that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.”

              Matt 4
5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in [their] hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, “Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. “

              Deuteronomy 6

16 Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted [him] in Massah.

              Matt 4
              8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

10 Then saith Jesus unto him, “Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him “only” shalt thou serve.”

              Deuteronomy 6

13 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
              Exodus 34
14 For thou shalt worship no other God: (EL) for the LORD, whose name [is] Jealous, [is] a jealous God:

              Matt 4
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

This titanic battle qualified Jesus Christ to replace Satan, the god of this earth. Satan failed to ensnare Christ, failed to entice Christ into transgressing The LAW and the spiritual weapon used by our Savior was that two edged sword: THE WORD OF GOD!

That very WORD Jesus Christ taught we must live by and that very same WORD the “so called” Christian world demands –—-
——- be nailed to the stake and abolished forever.

If God’s WORD could be abolished, what are the Saints of God to use in their own war with Satan? IF the scriptures Christ used to defeat Satan are dumped in the trash, what replaces that powerful spiritual two edged sword?

The Apostle Paul tells us in Ephesians 6: 17 the Saints of God also are to use that very same Spiritual Sword our savior used: The WORD of GOD!

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit, which is — The Word of God:

Thank GOD that Word can never be abolished: that WORD is Truth.

“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by — every word — that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

God spoke to Moses on the mountain and then to the Prophets giving them His Words to write in books — if you foolishly attempt to make the case the “New Testament” writings are also spoken from the very Mouth of GOD please reveal where and when the letters of Paul and the other Apostles and the 4 Gospels were Spoken from the MOUTH OF GOD and written by down by the Apostles ?

Only the book of Revelation came from the mouth of God.

Do I acknowledge Jesus Christ is – GOD! Yes! Thus the words of Jesus Christ as recorded in the 4 Gospels —- are — The Word of GOD — AND– this paper is demonstrating the teachings of Jesus Christ as found in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John come directly from the Torah, the Prophets and the Psalms – directly from the mouth of GOD.

Do I acknowledge the New Testament is ‘God Breathed’ and is the “WORD of God, ” YES ?

Do I acknowledge the men that wrote the letters and the history of that first century did so by the inspiration and guidance of the Spirit of God the Father, YES — absolutely !

Do I believe the Torah and much of what is found written in the books of the Prophets came directly from the mouth of God, yes?

There are many “Thus sath the LORD” found throughout the Old Testament.

The Gospel, the Good News Jesus Christ preached for 3 ½ years and every doctrine He taught has as it’s foundation in the Torah, the Prophets and the Psalms.

              The Sermon on the Mount

              Matthew 5:
1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

7 Blessed [are] the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
              Proverbs 11

4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

To shorten this paper to a reasonable length we will skip ahead to the last scripture in the Sermon on the Mount.

Did Jesus Christ in His Sermon on the Mount reveal to mankind an astounding insight?? Christ told those listening to His sermon they must become PERFECT — AS — our FATHER in heaven is — PERFECT!

48 Be ye therefore “perfect”, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Christ lived totally and completely by the WILL of the Father! Everything Jesus Christ said and did and was was what the FATHER showed HIM to say and do. Every thing Christ was, said and did was PERFECT – in exact accord with the WILL of the FATHER and thus WAS PERFECT JUST LIKE OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN IS PERFECT.

SO!!! If living by the LAW i.e. the Torah, the Prophets and the Psalms is PERFECT and is exactly the mind of GOD the Father — did Christ then turn from that PERFECT WAY and abolish THE LAW THE PROPHETS AND PSALMS?

Face the logic: if our Father is heaven is perfect and Christ copied that perfect WAY to perfection — are we now to live another way?

Christ just told those listening to the sermon THEY must become perfect just like the FATHER in Heaven — and then Christ changed that PERFECT WAY which is living by the Commandments, the Statues and the Judgments ??

Turning from the WAY of the FATHER is to turn to the way of SATAN which is lawlessness !!!!!

In Psalms 1 can be found some of the foundational teachings of Jesus Christ that are scattered throughout the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in which Jesus Christ taught using direct quotes and paraphrased precepts.

              Psalm 1: 1- 6;
1 Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

What is sin? What is ungodly? Define please without using the LAW.

2 But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

This is the Old Testament and David delighted in the LAW of the LORD. Was David a fool? Did David delight in an evil LAW?

Must David, a man after God’s own heart/ nature, — repent of delighting in the LAW OF THE LORD?

David a man after God’s own nature, Jesus Christ stated will reign over all 12 tribes of Israel in the Kingdom.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

4 The ungodly [are] not so: but [are] like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, — nor sinners (1 John 3: 4) in the congregation of the righteous.

Please explain how one may determine if a person is “ungodly”
              .
6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Thy Law is Righteousness ! But Christ changed all that – Right?

9 Blessed [are] the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

              Proverbs 12
20 Deceit [is] in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counselors of peace [is] joy.

              Psalms 82

6 I have said, Ye [are] Gods (Elohiym); and – all of you – [are] children of the most High.

As this paper is already longer then most will bother to read — here is a final example where Christ used the “two edged sword” in His conflicts with the Priests and Pharisees.

              John 10
31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you– from my Father; — for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, “I said, Ye are gods”?
              35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken [ dissolved] ;

Jesus Christ quoted from Psalms 82: 6 to shut the mouths of the Pharisees and THEN stated the scripture can not be broken, dissolved i.e. abolished??

But so called “Christianity” and Maxwell demands the Law be abolished!!!!

again Jesus Christ used the two edged Sword of THE WORD OF GOD to defeat His enemies – and this is that WORD — “YOU” — want to abolish??

Max please show me the errors in this comment.

          • Gordon

I understand where you are coming from, but also think you have misunderstood my statement.
The Torah was not abolished but rather set within our hearts.
The fulfillment of the Torah was found in Jesus (Yeshua) actions.
Hence the law of Moses was set aside as our chief standard of performance so that we could live by the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus

If we follow the Torah without Jesus as our Passover we add unnecessary obligation to our walk and ultimately remain in condemnation.

Romans 3:19-21 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.

God is replacing our evil carnal human nature with HIS Divine HOLY perfect nature by the circumcision without hands,

“Conversion’ is the converging of our evil nature over to HIS perfect Holy nature and that nature is understood and revealed by the Torah.

Jeremiah 31: 31 -35 explains this fact, God is placing HIS nature in us and HIS nature is the Torah and in verse 33 the word for Law is Torah,

The term “under the law” has confused about 99%, until repentance, baptism and receiving the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands every single human born is under the condemnation of the Law — we all are condemned to death because we have transgressed the HOLY LAW.

Christ removed that condemnation by HIS blood. Christ removed us from “under” – the penalty of death imposed by” – the LAW,

by His death He did not remove the Torah only the penalty of death each has earned.

and verse 20 states no one can by the “works of the Law: be accounted righteous — and what are the works of the Law?

Animal sacrifice: which was add later due to the transgression of the law and those sacrifices were the school master leading us to the one sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

There is no work involved in not committing murder but there is much work is bleeding to death an animal and then butchering it.

Only the sacrificial law which was added later was ended by the death of Christ, the rest of the Torah is still in effect and will be for ever.

…gordo…Truthseeker is not ready for the change. Has not, yet, recognized the Holy Spirit as an earthly reality, in his life. This is a very serious problem for him. He will remain defensively, judgmental till the end…hoping that his opinion of his own superior morality, will make his self image a reality.
… I’ve been trying for more than 2 years to break through his ‘egoism’. I don’t think he can believe that ANYONE else, knows more about the scriptures and Godly reality, than he does. Thinks he’s got something nobody else is qualified for.
…If you can get him to talk about some of his “religious” viewpoints, you’d see that he’s just not quite understandable…like he just refuses to try to believe, Jesus Christ brought a NEW testament to the world. A new, and improved…WORD OF GOD.
…Seeker seems to NOT believe that YHVH and Jesus Christ, are the same person, in Spirit….calls that “trinitarianism”. He’s just not ready.

Romans 8:1-3 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh,

              A sin offering?

An offering to pay the DEATH penalty for sin.

Please explain how Christ making an offering to pay the penalty for the sins of many, in any way shape or form removes the Torah — with out the Torah there is no such thing as SIN !

The Torah defines what SIN IS.

If there were no Law then why is it wrong to lie etc?

If Christ had removed the Torah then there is nothing to repent of and all new testament writings surely explain repentance is a requirement for salvation.

1 John 3: 4 for sin IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW

            • Gordon

              Romans 3:28
For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.
              Romans 3:31
Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.
              Romans 4:13
It was not through the law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.

            • Truthseeker

              Gordon

              Romans 3:28
For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

This does NOT say a person is justified by simply obeying the law — none have EVER obeyed the Law 100% for their entire life –NO NOT ONE !!

Only Jesus Christ did so. thus simply obeying the Law can not go back and remove transgressions.

What pray tell can remove sin from the past of a person once they are called, chosen and converted?? ONLY THE BLOOD OF CHRIST!

God added the sacrificial laws to make Israel understand that sin demands the penalty of death – which is the only way to “justify” SIN !

Thus only by the sacrifice of Christ can any be “justified” — never by the works of the law i.e. animal sacrifice.

Animal sacrifice was added to force Israel and the Body of Christ to understand why the death of Christ as our Passover was the ONLY way to restore man’s relationship with GOD.

Nothing man can do on his own can could ever “justify” him in the eyes of GOD — man is evil 100%. “NONE are good – no not ONE!!!!!

              Romans 3:31
Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.

Paul is stating faith does NOT abolish the LAW i.e. the Torah — no is upholds the Law, If you trust GOD you will obey HIS voice.

“Why call you ME LORD LORD and do not the things I say?”

Faith is an abstract word thus “trust in the promises and contracts of God” is a clearer understanding of the abstract word “trust”.

              Romans 4:13
It was not through the law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.

Genesis states Abraham kept the Law of God but because he trusted God it was accounted as faith. If you trust a person, do you ignore what he tells you to do??

Jesus Christ clearly stated if you seek eternal life KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS!

16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

17And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, ———- keep the commandments. ——–

18He saith unto him, —- Which? ==== Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

19Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

20The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

21Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

22But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

No Gordon Christ never ended the Torah as the standard we are to live by.

When Christ returns the Torah will go forth from Jerusalem into the entire world.

During the 1000 year reign Christ will rule with the rod of iron using the Torah as the standard.

Christ was judged by the Torah and so shall we — it is the ONLY standard given in GOD’s Word.

            • Gordon

              Truthseeker,
You do realize how confusing your doctrine is; You expound on the finished work of Christ but at the same time tell how important it is to keep the law?
OK, so make a list of those laws that you are responsible to uphold.
I’ll be looking forward to seeing your lists

The ULTIMATE AND ONLY LAW that the Troothytits is trying to dissemble everyone away from is the one that St. Paul made clear.

              God’s promise to Abraham.

That God will never go back on that promise means that Troothytits does not think that the Children of Israel have to have anything other than faith in God or not to be saved and as such will not be affected in any way by their obedience to Mosaic law or not.

So if he is demanding that anyone must obey a Mosaic law they cannot obey it goes without saying that he just does not think of them as Children of Israel and therefore does think of them as damned like he is whatever they do. He tries to convince them of this by lying about the importance of the Mosaic Law. Because he is a demon.

I just gave you the exact words of Jesus Christ found in Matthew 19: 16 -22 —- Christ said in verse 17 “And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, ———- keep the commandments”. ——–

It is not me telling you that to obtain eternal life one must keep the Commandments it is Christ —- AND then Christ listed the commandments showing us how to love our fellow man.

Do you not believe Christ or do you think His teaching was only during His life time — which is preposterous.

Maxwell has in his own mind spiritualized away even the thought that one must OBEY of GOD.

All max wants to do is his own “thing” he refuses the commands of Christ.

            • Truthseeker

              Maxwell
you wanted the scriptures showing Christ taught the Torah and I supplied a few,

It is a fact Christ taught the Torah for 3 1/2 years and lived by that Law as our example to follow — but you have refused to Obey the WORD of GOD and will only follow the way which is right in your own eyes.

I wonder which “spirit” you are being taught by — there are many spirits running around in this present world.

Actually I know which spirit you follow — the lawless one.

            • Truthseeker

              Gordon,

John 14: 15 “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

Gordon which Commandments do you suppose Christ was telling HIS Apostles to KEEP?

Do you suppose they are the same He told the rich man to keep??

Do you not know it was the WORD which became Jesus Christ which wrote the 10 Commandments on two table of stone in the presents of Moses on that Holy Mountain by HIS own finger.

The 10 Commandments ARE the Commandments of Jesus Christ.

Do you also accept the lie that Christ had to come to remove from off our back the evil, harsh, burdensome commandments of HIS Father??

Gordon why do you reject the clear words of Jesus Christ, the Finished work of Christ was to die for our sins – not to remove the law which clearly lays out what sin IS. 1 John 3: 4

Paul state how would I know that lust is sin except the commandments says so??

Maxwell, if you can, please clearly explain how the above is not correct.

Do not bother to tell me I am hung up in legalism, I refuse to be “lawless” as you are, Christ obeyed but who does not?? Satan!

            • Gordon

              Truthseeker,
I think this subject of the law has run its course. There is no convert here. I reiterate my claim that,

I knew when we began you would not understand,

              How did I know?

Matthew 24: 5 “For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.”

Gordon Christ is stating that with the message that HE is the Christ and coming with and “in” His authority, “in My Name”, shall deceive the MANY!

So called christianity is deceived and is teaching false doctrine. All 40,000 flavors of them.

Just look at the statement of Christ in Matthew 5: 17 “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.”

So called christianity teaches the exact reverse of that statement of Christ, Christ came to FILL TO THE FULL the LAW and with one voice “christians” thanks Christ for nailing the HOLY LAW of GOD to the stake.

So called christianity, over and over, calls Jesus Christ a liar.

              Have an nice day,

              Two final questions:

first; what is the “condemnation” those in Christ no longer have?

and what does “and so HE condemned sin in the flesh” mean?

Could the condemnation be, we no longer are under the sentence of death?

If you will check with Stong’s you will find the word condemnation means “penalty”.
