Robert Kennedy’s Murderer Claims Mind Control by Woman in a Polka-Dot Dress

From Dateline Zero — Sirhan Sirhan, the convicted assassin of Senator Robert F. Kennedy, claims that he was a victim of mind control. He claims that he was being controlled by a woman in a polka-dot dress, and that it was not his bullets that actually killed Robert Kennedy.

This is all detailed by lawyers for Sirhan in legal papers, recently been obtained by the Associated Press. Linda Deutsche, AP Special Correspondent, writes that the documents “detail extensive interviews with Sirhan during the past three years, some done while he was under hypnosis.”

The documents also suggest a second person shot and killed Kennedy while using Sirhan as a diversion.

Sirhan’s lawyer, Lawrence Teeter, had been trying since 1994 to have state and federal courts overturn the conviction. Teeter argued that Attorney Grant Cooper, who had been Sirhan’s defense council, was compromised by a conflict of interest and was, as a consequence, grossly negligent in defense of his client. He’d also argued that his client was hypnotized and framed, possibly by a government conspiracy.

During a hearing on June 30, 2003, Teeter hoped to get a new trial for Sirhan. He referred to testimony from the original trial transcripts regarding a prosecution eyewitness to the attack, author George Plimpton, in which he said that Sirhan looked “enormously composed. He seemed—purged.” This statement coincided with the defense’s argument that Sirhan had shot Kennedy while in some kind of hypnotic trance.

The motion for a new trial for Sirhan was denied. Teeter died in 2005 and Sirhan had declined offers for new legal representation, until recently.

Through the years, Sirhan has claimed no memory of shooting Kennedy and said in the recent interviews that his presence at the hotel was an accident, not a planned destination. According to the recently obtained documents, Sirhan said under hypnosis that on a cue from the girl he went into “range mode” believing he was at a firing range and seeing circles with targets in front of his eyes.

Sirhan also said (under hypnosis) that he remembered meeting the girl only on that night. He recalled becoming smitten with her. He said she led him to the pantry.

This recollection of a “woman in a polka-dot dress” is particularly intriguing because witnesses have talked of seeing such a female running from the hotel just after midnight on June 5, 1968. She was shouting, “We shot Kennedy.”

Witness descriptions of the mystery woman were conflicting. She was never identified.

“I thought that I was at the range more than I was actually shooting at any person, let alone Bobby Kennedy,” Sirhan was quoted as saying during interviews with Daniel Brown, a Harvard University professor and expert in trauma memory and hypnosis. He interviewed Sirhan for 60 hours with and without hypnosis, according to the legal brief.

Brown was hired by Sirhan’s current lawyer William F. Pepper.

Atty. David Dahle is representing the prosecutors. Sandi Gibbons, a spokeswoman for the attorney, said prosecutors were unaware of the legal filing and could not comment.

Sirhan says in one interview cited in the documents: “I am trying to figure out how to hit on her…. That’s all that I can think about. I was fascinated with her looks …. She never said much. It was very erotic. I was consumed by her. She was a seductress with an unspoken unavailability.”

Sirhan maintained in the hypnotic interviews that the mystery girl touched him or “pinched” him on the shoulder just before he fired then spun him around to see people coming through the pantry door.

“Then I was on the target range … a flashback to the shooting range … I didn’t know that I had a gun,” Sirhan said.

According to the AP article, Pepper is a New York lawyer with an international practice. He said that he is convinced that Sirhan was a victim of a mind control project such as those used by the CIA in the 1960s, and is seeking a hearing to exonerate Sirhan in Kennedy’s killing.

But there’s more to the lawyer than that. William Pepper has also tried to prove that James Earl Ray was not the assassin of Martin Luther King Jr, and is also involved in the 9/11 Truth movement that seeks to have former President Bush charged with war crimes. In other words, he spends his time trying to prove conspiracies in courtrooms.

If it sounds like I think this guy Pepper is a waste of time and money, it’s because I do. Jeezus.

Also, I also don’t have a lot of faith in the testimony of someone under hypnosis. This kinda’ thing really upsets me because the human mind is very vulnerable under a hypnotic state, and is easily influenced by suggestion. It isn’t hard to plant false memories in someone who’s been placed in a hypnotic state.

In other words, Sirhan could be “remembering” whatever Pepper wants him to remember. If that poor bastard wasn’t programmed before, he’s being programmed now. But I digress…

The L.A. Times reports that there are handwritten notes from Sirhan that tell an entirely different story than the one being advanced by Pepper and his hynotherapist.

Michael McCowan was an investigator and the youngest member of Sirhan’s defense team. In 1969 when the accused assassin wrote on a legal notepad the narrative of his visit to a target practice range, and his election-night trip to the hotel, according to the LA Times newsblog.

“He wrote it right in front of me,” said McCowan, now 78. Handwritten notes purportedly from Sirhan, kept for 42 years by a Century City business executive, suggest that his behavior was calculated and controlled as he waited to shoot the presidential candidate in the hotel’s kitchen pantry area.

Sirhan also signed a second statement giving McCowan the rights to the documents.

“It never seemed to me to be a conspiracy. He wanted to be a martyr for the Palestinian cause,” McCowan said in another LA Times article. “Sirhan’s not stupid. In his 10th-grade history book from his high school in Pasadena he’d underlined the assassination of President McKinley and on the next page of Archduke Ferdinand.”

Sirhan had then written words to the effect that there would be many more such assassinations, McCowan said. “I think he wanted to be a martyr. To me, he was the first terrorist,” he said.

McCowan says he had volunteered for Sirhan’s defense team “because everybody’s entitled to a defense, to their day in court.”

Spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons made an interesting comment to the LA Times, regarding the handwritten notes. She was a news reporter in 1968 who saw Kennedy moments before he was killed and then covered Sirhan’s trial. She said the auction-bound narrative was never introduced as evidence.

“Sirhan had a diminished-capacity defense,” Gibbons said.

Indeed, Sirhan’s lawyer Grant Cooper said during the closing arguments: “We are not here to free a guilty man. He is guilty of having killed Sen. Robert F. Kennedy.”

Yes, that was Sirhan’s defense.
