Halloween’s Tale: Death’s Front Door

We have all heard the expression at death’s front door, I am here to tell you that is more than an expression because its true.

Many cultures speak of knocks on a door or window signifying that death is on the other side of the door. Generally, its three knocks on the door.

The Irish and the Scots both have traditions that state three knocks on a door or three taps on a window especially when heard at regular intervals–lasting for two minutes–means death.

According to several Native American tribes when the thumping of a stick 3 times on the ground is heard or the beating of a drum 3 times is heard it means someone will die.

This superstition also pops up in Arab and Jewish traditions.

Of course with Halloween nearing, the veil is very thin and this year the veil is thinner due to Halloween is between to SuperMoon in 2016.

This time last year, I was visited by the Angel of Death but last night I  heard a series of three very loud knocks on the door that woke me from a deep sleep.

At 3:05 am I heard two sets of three knocks (six knocks) that were so loud that I jumped up from my bed. I thought someone was at my front door and went to look but no one was there.

I was too frighten to say the least and once I was up I did not hear the knocks again. I listened in the dark and imaged that I heard the knocks in my dream or that a neighbor was knocking on an adjoining wall. But I continue to count the knocks in my head until I went back to sleep.

Death is real and was too was death’s knock on my front door.
